Omg, I didn't know that you were a fine art lover... and for a first art post, I must say Klimt is quite an interesting choice.My favorite works by him would have to be " Flower Garden" and " The Virgin" .... :)
Personally,I like and don't like his work....In the art world he is criticized for his repetitive decorative elements, and his gold backgrounds and jeweled coloration are considered to be outside the bounds of " great art".
However,I do admire that that a "woman" is a key motif in his work and he always portrays women as an attractive creature - enigmatic, mysteriously beautiful and sublime. But then again,so did many of his contemporaries.... :)
I love Klimt. I have an entire book of his paintings and it never ceases to amaze me. I also think it's great when people find any kind of inspiration in such deep thoughts;)
I would say what I actually like with Klimt is the very decorative elements he put into his art. Like for example the Kiss, that is probably one of the most reprinted pieses of artwork ever, still deserves the role because it is so decorative. It really works as an umbrella. lol.

My favorite Klimt work I think is Danae and the Beethoven Frieze. The frieze I basicly like cause I have a big fascination with subjects in art where I can recognise myself. It is full of scinny ladies with big black hair. Danae is just so sensual and adorable.
Klimt is by far one of my favourite artists. Such an amazing and unique sense of colour and composition he had!
This is one of my all time favorite paintings. The colors, the emotions, everything is just so incredibly beautiful.

THIS IS MY FAVOURITE PAINTING!!!!!!! OUT OF ALL! And Klimt is one of my favourite artists! He has such amazing work and I love it all. Did you know that originally all his paintings were nude tho? But usually they were doing "inapropriate" things to themselves so thats why all his people are covered with different, wierd gowns. I love it though! It's so special and different!
