A Milli in Aire

I cannot get the Lil' Wayne song out of my head and I want to scream out loud...haha...because there is obviously NOTHING to this song (A milli)....it'll pass, just like my lil' Katy Perry phase :P..well...this weekend will be pretty busy since im going rock climbing tonight and tomorrow morning we are off to Niagara (staying at Sheraton on the falls...holllla if you will be there too :P). We might pass to the states to do some shopping but most likely just stay there, go to casino, eat, drink and all the rest. I'll be sure to take some pictures for those of you who have never seen the falls, it really is beautiful!
Now on to the boots: I got my VS booties in the mail and when I first opened the package I was not impressed (the leather is not quality at all), however, after trying them on and staring at them for a while- I convinced myself they were STILL a good purchase (I doubt I will be seeing many ppl here in Toronto rocking these). I will not buy shoes from there again though because with duties, taxes and shipping its just not worth it. If you DO choose to buy them def. go a size up if you are between half sizes. They fit a little small.

Ruffle Shirt: Ella Moss (thrifted)
Acid wash Jeans: Thrifted
Grey tank: AA triblend
Pearl Clutch: Vintage
Booties: Colin Stuart for VS
p.s. Im not depressed or sad as I may look in the pic (again..I need to smile..haha) but im in desperate need of a venti bold here because as you can see, my eyes are barely open!

Project Self

S from http://modern-guilt.blogspot.com/ (check out her blog….def one of my faves!!) has tagged me in "Project Self which requires the tagged blogger to state 8 things they like about themselves, 3 things that they dislike and 5 things that they previously disliked but have learned to love. The tagged blogger must also state something they love about both the person tagging them as well as the individual they decide to tag, and furthermore post a picture that displays at least one of the things they love or dislike about themselves. This is in response to some of the hate and negativity that we have seen popping up in comments all over the place. Constructive criticism is fine but when you personally stab at someone (i.e about their weight) that’s just plain mean.

I have so many positive things to say about S so here goes: I love her wit, writing style, and honesty that she conveys in her posts- oh, and not to mention that he’s an absolute stunner with impeccable style!

Now on to myself….

8 things I love about myself
-I’m not a picky person
- I have the best mama in the world that always encourages me to be myself
- I have a few but very great friends. Who needs a whole posse of superficial peeps whe you can have a few best friends? Quality and not quantity!
-I am a “school nerd” and Im good at math
- My hair =)
- My almost black eyes (very dark brown)
- The love in my life --- le BF <3

3 dislikes:
- I bite the crap out of my fingers (not just the nail part!)
-I bruise way too easily
- I rationalize my spending by telling myself “it was on sale”

3 dislikes but learned embrace:
- My flat feet
-My small boobs (good for getting away with scandalous tops)
- Small bump on my nose (gives me character :P)
- My tiny room (I’m trying to make the best use I an of such a small space)
-The fact that I can’t always be right

I have passed the torch on to Marta from http://withlovegabrielle.blogspot.com/ .She just seems like a really great, fun person and I always look forward to reading her posts. Her style is almost perfect (I tease because she has yet to go thrifting/vintage shopping :P) and she is truly a natural beauty! You should check out her blog..its another one of my fave daily reads =)

My Milkshake

The pics came out kind of crappy which makes me sad- I suck at taking pics with a tripod (not to mention it is now also partially broken)! So in the mornings I am getting into the habit of having a bowl of cereal...BUT I seem to be addicted to nutitional shakes. I like the cheap equality brand vanilla shake. So now its coffee...my long time horrible but often social addiction...and now these damn shakes! This is costing me a pretty little penny !! Well now on to ranting about my NEW FAVE sweater by Wilfred. I really wish these pics showed its true beauty and slouchiness and oh so HAWWWT stud accents.....but they don't really....le bf will have to take better pics of me since I have not proven to be the greatest photographer (i'll try to remain positive..haha). Well this sweater can also be worn upside down to be a shorter and even slouchier sweater- now thats versatile =)...I thought I would wear my AA U neck dress since it rarely makes its debut out of my closet, and I paired it with my Kors studded leopard print belt that I love to pieces. The socks are over the knee socks but I scrunched them down- its all about the bagginess :P. Lastly, my Nylon magazine finally arrived! I ordered that thing back in June...JEEEEZ - 'bout time..well off to devour my mag before bedtime .....Love you lovelies <3....

Black is the new Pink

Is it just me or does anyone else have the same lust for little gold box of black gooey goodness?! well too bad for me anyways, as it is now OUT OF STOCK on the site and was available as a limited edition pre-order only =(. Its sparkle free, transparent and black...what more could I ask for? Like I said, I'm always up for trying new things ;)

Paint it Black

So today brings nothing special other than some really nice weather which I did not embrace much considering I was working indoors at my desk most of the day. I did get a chance to go for a little coffee run and feed my soon-to-be out of control addiction (mmmmm starbs vanilla lattes). I can be having a horrible day and feeling like all is going wrong but as long as I have my nice cup of joe....its always a nice little pick me up to get me started off just right (or somewhat make up for whatever "bad" has occurred throughout the day). That being said...it's imp. that there are no "coffee screw-ups"...because for me--it can make ALL the difference..haha...well school is starting soon which means triple the caffeine and investing in extra whitening crest strips! Well maybe not considering one of my best friends and long time coffee buds will no longer be joining me next year (you know who you are mr!). WOW enough about coffee..now THAT was a rant..and onto the outfit:

Skirt: Wilfred (im in LOVE with the fit) $45
Vest: Thrifted $4
Necklace: Beckerman $120 on sale for $11
shirt: F21 $12
Shoes: Stuart Weitzman $280 (bought for $140)
Bag: Winners $60

The only reason I own those awesome stuarts are because I worked at a highend shoe store for a couple years and got them (with my 50% off discount of course!) when they just came out. They sold out in a matter of days...well then Steve Madden knocked them off..which solved that problem :P damnm it....

I Caved.....

I know that these have been poppin' up all over the blogosphere and I told myself....NO NO no...BUT after searching eBay for the costly Louboutin version which is nowhere to be found (and also waaaaay out of my price range- I was looking for a used pair...yea right- who in their right mind would actually part with those babies??!!)... I decided that I better jump at the oppurtunity to own this leather bootie which is strikingly similar to its sexalicious counterpart. Plus it was 20% off all the booties at VS which sort of sealed the deal because without that the total would have came out to $160! Sometimes it sucks to be canadian (taxes and shipping cost almost as much as the boot!). Anyways for thoe of you thinking about purchasing them....the promo code is: [20boots]

Chloe's first Outing

Im laughing in this picture because here I am in Yorkville and trying to keep a straight face but when you have a group of onlookers wodering why you have a BF taking multiple pictures of you in random poses...and looking like a paparazzi...you just can't help but laugh! So here they are...my beautiful Chloes (which you can't really see because of the dark socks..sorry guys...but don't worry, I'll be donning these quite a bit ;). Yesterday was just a bunch of running errands but along the way I kind of made a random and unexpected purchase at Aritzia and bought a wilfred sweater with the cutest little pyramid stud details- Its very slouchy (just what i've been looking for)...The skirt im wearing is also by wilfred and costs the same amount as the AA interlock pencil skirt but you cannot even compare the quality! This is 100 times more durable. oh and TGIF...im looking forward to a relaxing weekend of rock climbing :P...yep, its relaxing

Inspiration found in odd places

Did I ever tell you I have a slight fascination with lemurs? Weird? Maybe, but I think they are the sweetest little creatures (a little scary lookig as neworns though) and I could not help but notice the striking resemblance between my lemur friend and these tights found in Nylon mag (cannot remember which edition- I should start saving that information in my files :s). Anyways, I think I might need a pair of these....mmm paired with my new Chloes which I have yet to feature on this blog as a part of an outfit.... Have a happy hump day =)

Empress of Canada

The cruise was a fun experience as expected and here are the pictures as promised. I had a lot more but I really liked these three so I decided to showcase just these three (although you ,cannot see my outfit very well in the pic..sorry). The more and more I look at pics such as these, the more I appreciate the beautiful city I live in and took for granted so many years (wanting to escape when I was younger...). The cruise was very relaxed and it was cool to see just how many people in Toronto actually own yachts...man, quite a few! We were flashed by one couple who thought it would be funny to show off their goodies to the crowd (which it kind of was- I don't know if I'd have the guts to pull that off though :s). And about 5 mosquito bites later and a gorgeous sunset- we were off and back home to rest up and drink a little wine before bed =) p.s. for those wondering: The jeans are wide leg cut by Marciano and the shirt is the grey burnout tee from F21. The necklace is my current fave (which might possibly strangle me in my sleep because I won't take it off) by Beckerman (I put it on a longer chain- AE to be exact).

The Kiss

"I have never painted a self-portrait. I am less interested in myself as a subject for a painting than I am in other people, above all women...There is nothing special about me. I am a painter who paints day after day from morning to night...Who ever wants to know something about me... ought to look carefully at my pictures.” Gustav Klimt
Frank Whitford Klimt, Thames and Hudson, 1990, p.52.
Now, Im thinking geometric prints and sequined shimmery pretty things- this man is a Genius!
and a rebel for his time ;)

Im addicted to Acid.....Wash

So it is no surprise when I say that i'm addicted to acid(wash)....I have been thrifting acid wash pieces and making what I can't find. I know, I know...why is it that recently i've been so into this so-called "horrific and should be dead but maybe it is and I just don't know it..or choose to ignore it" trend of the 80s? Meh...to me, style is about doing your own thing, expressing yourself in your own way and just not GIVING A DAMN- it's all about the 'tude and how you carry yourself! That's what makes this world such an interesing place. If we all woke up in the morning and wore monochromatic black and white- then we probably would not be taking the time to read these fun blogs let alone taking the time to create one. I will continue to wear my acid wash despite the menacing looks I occasionally get from the "Abercrombie clad". Why? Because I like it!
Later on, i'll be off on a boat cruise having dinner by the docks (it's a work event) with le BF. Hopefully I can take some pictures and post them later on =) xx

Lost Season?

Due to the "awesome" (me being sarcastic) weather I am able to wear leather during the so-called summer months! This was the leather skirt i've been searching for and of course found on my "lucky day" when least expected...and cost a whole $8 ..Its a tight fit but not plastered to my body..or else I would have left it on the racks for some other chica to pick up ;). P.s my order came in the mail today from AA and I have finally gotten my acid wash deep V, tri blend deep V and tricot black leggings...I like them for school (which will be starting a little too soon :s). AND im currently DIYing a pair of thrifted goodwill jeans with bleach to try and create my own acid wash look (we'll see how that goes). If there is no post including this "work of art" you will know it was because I was just too embarassed about the results! Hopefully it'll turn out the way I picture it, if not, its $3 down the drain..cheaper than the price of a vanilla latte at Starbucks and thus not a huge loss...xo

Wednesday= Happy Day

Why are wednesdays happy days? Well I am going to let you in on a little bit of my logic..for one, It is the day before Thursday which means only one more day until friday. Its the hump day and makes me feel all the bit more excited for the weekend (which I probably should'nt be considering we've practically skipped summer and went straight from spring to fall :s) . The beige romper i'm wearing is from Old Navy. I really wanted it when I saw it in the Flare magazine however, I bought it without trying it on. Even though I bought the smallest size, i've decided I practically "swim" in this thing. I could not return it because I lost the bill and then it went on sale so i'd be getting jipped on my purchase. ANYWAYS...it kinda grew on me and I finially decided to wear it..with my never before seen on this blog most coveted item- my anniversary Gucci bag. I bought this last year and will never regret it =). See, I do splurge...and to prove I do that every once in a while I also posted a pic of my new Chloe's...very bad, I know...but they were actually a steal so I could not pass 'em up! I've been lusting for a pair but they are always so damn expensive! ....I picture wearing them with my navy acid wash shirt and skinnies, dresses....etc etc...enough ranting...
Jumper: Old Navy
Glasses: Burberry
Bracelet: H&M
Purse: Gucci
Shoes: Winners
Necklace: Gift from friend
Blue patent shoes: Chloe
ok not enough ranting :P....p.s. I also picked up a hot semi-high waisted leather skirt for $8 at my local thrift shop so I will share it soon! See, I swear Wednesday is the day..Or maybe they just restock a hell of a lot in the middle of the week...
Have a beautiful hump day ladies and gents =)

Fringe Benefits

Photobucket

I'm a little bit obsessed with fringe lately. I have been looking for a leather fringed bag for about a month and actually stumbled upon a waist bag at a thrift shop for..you guessed it..$2! It was perfect and matched my Kenneth Cole shoes perfectly which made it a great work outfit since the outfit is devoid of any denim or "crazy" colors. The great thing with thrifted and vintage pieces is that you do not have to worry about looking like you are in a sea of Amercrombie and Hollister clones at a party (Not that I have anything against those brands..they do make some nice pieces). The black suede boots I actually picked up a couple years ago on sale for $10- they are the comfiest things ever!

Still a Sex Kitten

I thought I would share with you one of my "inspiration pics" (I have a little folder on my desktop) so here she is, Claudia Schiffer, at the height of her popularity in the famous Guess Ads that helped launch her career (and also that of Guess jean sales...of course!). Being one of the world's most successful supermodels, she has appeared in over 500 magazine covers. Don't you wish you could just reach in and steal those jeans right off her bottoms? They are so perfect! And the specs...by far one of my fave pics of Schiffer.
Another post to come later so stay tuned =)

Photo cred: Not sure where I found it- I had it saved on my desktop

Fire Starter

The weather this weekend was none other then..Yuck...it's been rainy and cold and to top it all off we had a propane explosion last night in Toronto which caused an earthquake like tremor. Many homes in the area had their windows and doors blown in. Needless to say, I stayed in and laid low. We rented "The Bank Job" which I would recommend..even if you do only watch it for some of the fashion (some great 70s outfits!..suprisingly). AND there are some of my fave mags i've been reading (minus..Elle..its missing from the pile). Now on to the outfit...The jeans were taken from Le BF- they obviously don't fit him- too small, but he found them in his closet and was joking that he would wear them today...I saw them and told him...nope..I will :P...and took those great Diesel jeans that are 4 sizes too big for me. I like the bagginess of the jeans and to solve the waist problem- I just folded them down. I do hope the pics get a little better- I just got a tripod and was testing it out...this is my "practice shoot".

Jeans: Diesel courtesy of Le BF at No co$t
Shirt: Diesel $30 on sale
Bag: B Makowsky (bought at Browns) $300

Minnie Me

Sorry but no outfit post today..I've been a little busy planning things for the weekend..almost back to school :s..Today was a laid back day and I mostly lounged in the above pink Minnie top which I picked up at a thrift shop. The cut is awesome.....well its shorter..I would'nt really call it a belly top.. dosn't show my belly button..size small and very wide on the sides- think back to 90210 nineties! The glasses are also thrifted (I have waaaay too many pairs of sunnies :s). I also went through my closets and have whole bunches of clothes I will probably be selling or givining away to my friends. I really wanted to post a picture of my hair because I think it is a look I will be sporting a lot more often. My friend did it for me...im not the greatest at braiding :s esp on myself. The rest of my day was spent sipping coffee while reading Nylon, W mag, Fashion, Flare, and Allure...so thats where the other bulk of my ca$h flow goes :P...G'night peeps!!

Oh Snap!

I know this look is a little more risque and it did get looks from the conservative neighbors who probably thought I had woken up and forgotten my shirt in thr morning. However...the top is actually not as see-thru as it appears in the pic- I had always wanted to try this look so this long weekend was the perfect time to debut the AA bodysuit I bought a while back but just had NO idea where or what to wear it with! I would never pair this look with a mini or anything to expose my stomach just because it loses the element of sexiness you get with a "peak" of skin (well a little more in this case! haha). That bag..I think im going to have to start switching it up..it seems to be glued to my arm lately! Maybe when I go thrifting thurs,..you guessed it..day off AND payday..uh oh

Also, im considering doing a vlog (video log) so I wanted to know if anybody had any questions or topics you would be interested in having me discuss? Maybe a tour of my crazy shoe collection, closet? makeup? Let me know =)

Now on to the outfit components:

Body suit: American apparel $30

Skirt: Thrifted and custom made (fits like a second skin- love it) $5 I think?

Bikini top: Gucci (part of a set)

Shoes: JC $60 with my SPC discount =) and Sunnies: Burberry

Problems??

Anyone else having problems uploading pictures? I keep trying to upload and it keeps coming back that there was in internal error in uploading the files...never happened before...Also if you look to the post below- half of the first pic is cut off- this happens to a lot of my pics when I try to upload them (i.e. from photobucket) and they are too large- any suggestions?...im a little "technologically challenged"

Le BF <3

Photobucket

This monday we decided to lay low since we both had the day off work so we had a nice breakfast in the morning...cleaned the car (well he did most of the cleaning, I did most of the drying!) and painted the doors black (they used to be a green color). These pics were taken just before going to our local pastry shop with a very european outdoor patio (think big umbrellas and large stone finishings). I had a latte and he had a hot choclate- he's not a caffeine addict..unlike me...:s..so here he is, I must say I do get a lot of my inspirations from him - i.e. the linen pants which inspired the "need" for the dress im wearing! His style? I guess I would call it laid back, more neutral and classic. He is also quite the thrifter...and bargain hunter
His pants: H&M linen pants on sale for $20
Shirt: Vintage YSL
Shoes: Puma
Sunnies: Mine! Burberry ---yes we share!
My dress: F21
Clutch: Christopher Kon (thrifted for $3...I was VERY happy that day)
Belt: Vintage snakeskin belt
Shoes: Winners on sale $25

In the land of Wonders

Very hot and very sticky which meant...I needed to wear the shortest shorts possible...which were my denim cut offs...the bathing suit underneath is the one I posted a while ago and I wasn't ballsy enough to post a pic of me in it on the blog...I really liked the way the straps peeked through though....it matched my vintage "hermes style" red leather purse. Loved the hot rod outside of the little 50s diner so I had to post this! The sunnies are from F21...I liked the white Ray Bans but for $8...this better suited my wallet! Not a creative outfit but nonetheless comfortable and perfect for an outing to Wonderland.
P.s. Day off tomorrow so I should have a few more posts coming your way =)

The Day Before Saturday

What did I do the day before Saturday? Work because I need to in order to buy the food and pretty things I need to carry on with my daily life...AND my brother is back from Europe so I spent some time with him. He's as tall as me now...jeeeeeez feels like he's been gone forever! Now im going to have to bug him to help me with my blog postings when le BF is busy :P...for dinner we went to get chicken, potatoes and rice and waited for 1 hour!! Apparently im not the only one with this genius idea (it's almost the same price buying it already made and then...no need to cook...im not a great cook...yet..unfortunately :s). Now on to the outfit! The hat, shoes and belt were all thrifted and in total cost a mere $12. I love the shoes- they have fringe detailing at the front with a little bow and a wedge heel. The wedge is low which means they are super comfy. Can't wait for the weekend...Im going to Wonderland tomorrow since my friend Frank got us all discounted tics (equivalent to six flags in the states I guess?) and I will be wearing the cutout bikini I posted in a previous posting...I will post pictures either sat/sun night =)

Dress: F21
Shoes: Thrifted Kenneth Cole
Bag: Winners
Sunnies: Burberry
Hat: Thrifted
Belt: Thrifted

P.s. I swear im not miserable...so I posted a "smiling" pic to prove it.
As to the last pic- the dress was really short so I wore little jean shorts because with the wind we've been getting here..its better to be safe!
Wish you guys an awesome weekend and thank you to all of you who take the time to comment- you don't know how much I appreciate it! I feel like I have my own community of friends (all with a common interest) from all over the world and it really does mean a lot to me...xxx
