Happy New Year Guys!

Im going to be wearing a little black vintage number that I picked up while thrifting (feathtured in the second picture...the belt was $2 at value villiage ..can also be worn as a necklace)....I love it soooo much and couldnt wait to show you guys! We are having a small sort of intimate dinner at my house with drinks, food (im cooking a roast with yummy potatoes and veggies), cheese and all the likes =)

I thought I would include another one of my Mexico pictures as they had a little Christmas/New years table set up (thats where I got that plastic hat! haha).

I wish that you all have a wonderful day and prosperous new year! Thought I'd post now because im going to be busy cooking, decorating with Anne and getting dressed/ready....

Hope the new year brings beautiful surprises for all of you...I know this past year has brought many for me!

Dark Glasses by Brauker

When Bill Brauker from Colorado kindly contacted me by email requesting permission to paint one of my photos I did not need to hesitate or think twice. Of course I agreed, especially after looking at the works on his site (he paints impressionist style so they are obviously not going to be photo-realistic- all the more reason to love). He has quite a past history of accomplishments and now sells paintings across the US and in other countries. You can check him out at http://brauker.com/art1.htm which also includes a link to his blog.

Im a Real O-G

Today was a short day at work since I had to get home to do some labs and study (yay Renal System....) as I have an exam when I get back to regular classes. Towards the end of the night le Bf and I went to the mall to exchange some of the gifts I got him....I bought him this really nice motorcycle style sweater but his arms would not fit in it :(...and he was so cute pretending to like it...I told him...."babe, your arms barely fit" and THEN he agreed.....he just didnt want to hurt my feelings...what a sweetie....so we did that, then met up with Frank for thai food and then Anne (my beautiful friend in the post below) at John's (my bf..I think thats the first time i've used his name on this blog) house....to watch prison break...on tape...yeaa...kickin' it old school....and of course, drink our Tim's coffee....

on to the outfit.....
The jacket is the leather Zara I picked up just previously and the shirt/dress is from the previous post that I have "rediscovered" hiding at the bottom of my closet....so neglected...so I'm bringin' it back...
The tights were like $5 at F21 and I think Im going to do some crazy cut out shit to it....or just slash up the sides....we'll see
The shoes were picked up for $25 at Pull and Bear (store from Spain) while I was in Mexico ...when I saw the studs..and then the price...they were mine ;)....the laces are leather...pretty awesome

Leather Jacket: Zara
Shirt: Urban Planet
Scarf: Thrifted

Vacation Pics part I

Let me start off by stating that there was never a dull moment in Cancun...from sleeping on the airport floor listening to the beat of MIA paper planes for four hours, to burning my ass on the beach, to the boys almost drowning with the massive waves and the lifeguard had to rescue them, to a bar fight...to meeting the best bartender of my life a.k.a Fermin- to smokin' the cohibas....to clubbing in the city at Dady Rock...to meeting peeps that made me feel like a "not so crazy nutbag"...to the plane ride home beside a man that had some sort of obsessive compulsive disorder and liked to cream his bald head every hour on the hour and play with shells....man, he even tried to sell me some on the plane..yeaaa...it was fun ;)

Detox

Hey guys! Hope your weekend is going well...mine has been filled with randomness- last night involved going to the movies with le Bf and 4 other friends ...it was sold out so we went to a pool hall for some food, drinks...and to play of course....then on the ride home we decided to extend the night a little more so we all ended up at my friend Patty's to get dressed up (in about 15 minutes with some vodka shots in b/w) and headed on downtown to the club district...I swear ... Mexico + Christmas + dance clubs = week long hangover ....I am in serious need of some detox.....shit..another exam is creeping around the corner...

p.s. Vacation pictures part I will probably be posted later on tonight! Love you guys <3
Photo cred: Def NOT mine....
Ohhh and S from Modern Guilt.....where have you gone??
Lastly......my playlist : everything T.I (i.e. Paper Trail) and Lil Wayne, Rihanna (live your life), Royal Society, MIA (paper planes), Jason Mraz (im yours) and a bunch of Christmas songs

Holiday Outfit

Almost forgot :P....here is my Christmas outfit....I may also include my Calvin Klein thigh high socks mama gave me for Christmas....the top is Victorias Secret from my mom's notorious shopping trip she does every year with the girls....no need to wear a bra with it - fits soooo comfortable and has removable satin straps ;)...The suede booties are Calvin Klein and are another Christmas gift from the mama who, might I add, has extremely awesome taste!

Well im off to eat endless amounts of Turkey and pastries guys with the familia.....and I will probably post some vacation pictures tomorrow :) ...le Bf has most of them ...oh and BOYYY do I have some stories to tell....
Oh and can you spot the tan lines? :P....

Top: VS
Skirt: Wilfred
Bracelet: Coach (an Xmas gift from my wonderful godmother whom I love to call Drinha..)

One last little post before I go ...

I know I said goodbye BUT ...like I said, I would do a little "what i'm bringing" if I had some time (which I do) sort of post - because I miss you guys already...haha

My list:
- 1 pair of jeans (because its going to be so damn hot ...why would I need any more?)
- lots of tops (mostly tanks....)
- Lots of dresses both beachy and dressy for those crazy clubbing nights that might involve a little too much Vodka...
- a black blazer
- a couple of belts
- 4 pairs of cut off shorts (which is what I usually end up living in...)
- 1 bathing suit and 3 bikinis
- 2 pairs of dress shoes and 3 pairs of sandals/Rubber flip flops for the pool so I dont get any nasty foot diseases
-2 hats (a big floppy one for the beach and one for just lounging...you know ..the one I got for like a dollar)
- 1 pair of tights (in case there are a couple chilly nights...never know)
- leggings (because we all know im addicted and they are a staple to my wardrobe)
- cute nightie (surprisingly from le BFs mom who gave one to me as a gift.....haha)
Now on to the "non-clothes" list.....
- magazines (of course! for the beach, plane...)
- Tide to go pen (who the hell has time to wash clothes...I swear this little thing is a miracle worker)
-Fekkai glossing cream
-Tylenol and Pepto Bis pink stuff (just in case...)
- Hand sanitizer for those "what the hell is this crap" type of moments
- toothpaste and deoderant because noone likes yucky smells (oh and it has to be deoderant and antiperspirant .....most are just antiperspirants....thats why Adidas is my fave...)
- Waterproof mascara (Lancome hypnotiq ...I need to finish the tube...I paid for it...)
- Vitamen E cream (need to hydrate the epiderms guys....)
- Body wash from fuits and passion (avocado so its extra hydrating)
- sample size perfumes (they are so much easier to carry around than a whole bottle that could very well break ...leave those at home...go to the Bay and ask for some testers!...theyre free...not that I will prob even use it...dont want to get eaten alive by little critters...)
-3 pairs of sunglasses (1 good pair for going out and 2 cheap pairs for the beach)
-Beach bag
P.S. I included the first picture because I just could not wait to show you guys my new leather jacket from Zara..it was $$ well spent and I think I will wear it a lot more than my other motorcycle jacket ...we'll see, it is a very different style......it has a wide sort of scoop neck which I love...I actually might post my other on eBay...
Thats it for now....i'll prob add/take away some stuff..wish me luck ...I should really get going now...Cyber free for a couple weeks...I'll be back for Christmas guys!....
XXX times a million...

Goodbye Lovers

And LASTLY.....I AM OFF....I will be back soon...but I have a couple exams to write and then 4 hours after my last exam I will be on a plane to Mexico ;) ....I will miss you all...but promise I will be back with lots to blog/post about...and lots of summer outfits combined with alcohol and the likes....which may make for some interesting combos....If you guys want.. I might be able to do a luggage/what Im bringing/packing in the moment sort of post in a few days....
This is a pic from last vacation (when I had long hair that Im wishing would grow a little quicker now...)

Top: Mango
Jeans: Marciano
Luggage: Diane Von Furstenburg (yea for $36 on sale ....at winners...screw Saks and their $250 sale tag...:P)

Tip of the day: If any of you decide to come to the wonderfulness that is Canada....make sure you hit up Winners ;)

XXX

If I were stranded on an Island....

and could only pick ONE beauty item (not that I would really need it as I would be alone and probably would not be "basking" in my own so called "beauty" but rather frying in the scorching hot sun....haha....) it would be mascara as you all know- because that is the one item that I generally always wear. Zach from Matchstick once again kindly sent me a couple tubes of the Loreal Double Extension beauty tubes (mascara) and of course, having tried many many many mascara's....I obviously also wanted to try this one. So far the ones I use are Rimmel lash Maxxx, Too Faced Lash injection, and Lancome Hypnotiq.

I would not buy the Lancome one again because for the price...it just didnt deliver the results that I was expecting. Lash injection I like, and thats mainly because it looks a lot more natural and I buy the travel size so it fits nicely in my wallet and as you all know, I can just quickly apply it on the bus ;)

Now on to this new Loreal product.....
It claims to give you 80% longer lashes...well I have kind of crappy lashes and this DEF made them a lot longer and more visually appealing than my fave Rimmel per say (I included a pic so you guys can see)...It comes with a primer which makes them look really thick and then the mascara to add color/length.
It gets extreme plus for that....the only downfall I had with it was that it was really hard to wash off...It says just use water to get it off....UMMM ...Noo....use a lot of force to get it off! So if you dont mind putting a little extra clean-up effort into your make-up regime...this is probably the little guy for you....

Let me know what YOU guys think...or if you have tried it....

Castaway

This morning I was looking for something to scrape the ice off the windshield of the car, and in turn I found two gorgeous bags that mama was going to give away (without telling me!) in the trunk...I have always loved the brown bag that she got so long ago- its buttery soft...and there it was..in the trunk (where she always keeps her bag of "give-aways". So I claimed it as my own. The black one is not huge but, it will meet my needs for now as my new "hobo-ish" purse...I just need to go to my leather fixer man and get the strap a bit shortended. Countdown to vacation time= 1 week!!!

Scarf: Thrifted
Cardigan: Wilfred (thrifted....you guys remember! I LOVE this thing...too much...actually I think I love almost all things Wilfred :s)
White Tank: Hanes
Leggings: Winners
Bracelet and knuckle ring: Gift from mama
Bags: Mama's cast offs

Jeeez ..seems like I get all the good stuff from the mama ! ....she does have awesome taste..
and what a hunch in that third pic! le Bf always gives me shit ..

Under my Christmas Tree....

I would like ....
- A BIG slouchy leather Hobo bag or just a plain old Balenciaga if Santa is feeling super nice :P
- Crash course book on how to sew ...because we all know my retarded fingers need a little extra help
- A+ in all my courses (ok I will try to keep it materialistic.....)
- Starbucks (A little java under the tree is always good for me ;)
- YSL gloss in Pur Black ;)
- A professional camera so I can put an end to posting all my crappy pixely pics (it seems like the quality is just getting worse and worse with my Sony...
-pretty Lacey underwear things

Oh and Santa, if you can just throw in a pair of Louboutin Cactus Booties I'd be super appreciative!

Lastly ...as per request, I took some extra shots of the skirt I wore in the last post...I obviously did not wear this out because it was nasty out today...oh and arent these shoes perfect?! Studs and all? Yea...another one of my thrift finds....Just wish the heel was a tad higher but mehh, can't be too choosey when thrifting!

19 .... Thats how many $$ this whole outfit cost

This morning I woke up at 8 am to begin studying (exam in four more days..ugh).and of course, my morning ritual includes coffee so after a couple hours of making notes I drove over to Tims to grab my 1/2 HC and 1/2 Coffee. I made a quick pit stop at Value Villiage with my ammo on hand and picked up these things....in the photo...which ran me a tab of $19....;)..including a white AA long sleeve T for le BF (he usually dosnt have the patience to shop around with me ..haha...I like to go alone anyways, then there is no rush)..The necklace is copper and will be perfect for vacation..the hat too which I def needed..I added a clip on earring to it to spice it up and might also glue on some feathers, we'll see. I always have good luck with blazers, the only downfall is they are usually black... This one is custom made vintage with shoulders that are not too prominent (I usually have to cut them out). The skirt is slightly acid wash- not too intense with small round stud details at the front..

Tip: Look for unique vintage clip on earring because you can use them to adorn hats and shoes if you get a set (or make rings with some wire and a glue gun...)
Blazer: Vintage
Copper Necklace: thrifted
Shirt: Vintage
Shirt: Hanes for $2 (shredded as per Camille's lesson)
Hat: Thrifted
Glasses: Vintage ....$1
P.s. For those of you looking for the high gloss leather looking leggings....F21 just got them today on the canadian site,...they will sell out tonight...how much you wanna bet??!! :P

Shopping in Mama's Closet

One of the greatest things about having a mama your size is being able to share clothes (well that is, if you have similar tastes!)....This top was purchased at BCBG by my mom this past summer and is so gorgeous...it is such a crisp white with the most perfect ruffled collar! I make sure to always carry a tide pen on hand...that thing is my lifesaver...if you have never tried it...and if you are anything like me and wear your food more than you eat it then...tide pen is for you!! ...haha. This purse is vintage Dior and was picked up at....of all places...well my fave place...Value Villiage! It was $29.99 which I did not mind paying for a pristine authentic vintage purse...they had some crappy LV fakes marked at the same price :s... Well I will be off to dinner with le Bfs parents...
and yes, I'll be working the leopard once again- these are the new F21 ones I picked up recently for $12...so much better in person (pic on the site does not do them justice!).

Leopard Tights: F21
Shirt: BCBG Maxazria (courtesy of mama)
Necklace: Vintage
Dior Purse: Vintage

P.s. you guys really rock...sorry I have not really been commenting...I've been doing it kind of sporadically...I will be in full force like I mentioned..in the new year fo sho' .... ;) After exams/Christmas ...Still trying to maintain updates though ...

Chunky Knit

Although I have not really been outside and its quite toasty in my home...just looking out the window at all the snow is making my fingertips tingle! Its time for some warm milk hot chocolate (I think using water to make HC is nasty). Oh and random...but thought i'd let you know....I have a psycho fish...he is a solitary creature and cannot live with other fish (he kills them) and LOVES to throw around the gravel in the fishtank...yea, he's super aggressive....i've got myself an interesting little creature...

Now onto the sweater....I have just "rediscovered" this sweater in mama's closet (she has the most MASSIVE collection of chunky knits....its awesome! I never have to buy any...) Its by Diane Kroe and I love that it is slightly cropped...and also the fact that there are slight imperfections throughout the sweater (on purpose of course) ...gives it some character. Diane Kroe is a local designer here in Toronto and is best know for her 10-in-1 dress (retail $250).

After studying for a few hours I will probably be out celebrating with le BF and our two best friends who just got engaged! That deserves a toast.... so excited...!!

Sweater: Diane Kroe
Jeans: Salsa brand (from Brazil....which reminds me...for those who were wondering/emailed me...my background is Portuguese)
Scarf: Jacob
