...Seriously, no pun intended....my room is about the size of a shoebox BUT you work with what you have...and I'm thankful to even have my own room so I should not complain! I am still organizing and decorating my room. I need to get a nice bedspread and probably some new curtains (the burgundy is a tad depressing)....I also need to get a large black bulletin board which will be my "ïnspiration board" so that I can post up all my fave pictres and little knick knacks. If I have time, hopefully I can make a little pit stop at Ikea this weekend and pick up a few things =). As you can see I have a thing for the Beatles, Marilyn, Audrey and ESPECIALLY James Dean (mostly because when I was younger...and still today...I always thought Dean was a spitting image of my grandfather in his younger days). I also need a record player so that I can finally blast those beatles tunes/records I have acquired over the years...In the last picture you can see I store my sparkley jewelry and pearls in vintage saucers...and yes, just under my grandmothers poodle is a nice big tub of YSL Creme Essentielle de Rose....expensive but so worth it....Also, If you guys have any suggestions/ideas in regards to new curtains ...shoot me a message! I'd really appreciate it

i just got a bulletin board and painted it black and it is amazing for inspiration because when the picture doesnt inspire you anymore you can just throw it out...
for curtains what i did was bought 3 different colors of sheer fabric and just sewed them together with a loop for the curtain rod and it makes my room ethereal and airy but also closed can block light out :) hope it helped

My apartment IS a room, I own a studio and now that my boyfriend lives with me...I SERIOUSLY lack closet space. Actually he doesn't take up much room but I am buying more clothes so...
Wish I could figure out a shelving system for my shoes like yours. This weekend I plan to SERIOUSLY reorganize my closet/apartment/room because it is driving me NUTS!
PS - I think we have the same room "style" I too have walls with nothing but vintage posters and classic movie stars...my prized posession is an autographed postcard of Lauren Bacall that she signed for me :)

i just found your blog, ha! okay i too, share your obsession with audrey hepburn. i have tons of pictures/posters of her and this christmas my bf bought me one that i already own but he hasn't seen since it is at my parent's house. so he is just never going to find out! anyway, about the curtains, i would try something more neutral since your room is already so colorful!

Bedding: White white white! Classic white is chic and comfy.
Curtains: I think some olive-yellowy green velvet curtains would look rich. Or even a silver delicate fabric could work. You should just go to a fabric store and make your own, either sew it or buy the iron on hemming stuff, then just slip them on a pole.
