Things you will need to de-pot your shadows:
1. Knife to pry off the plastic top of the shadow case
2. Candle to melt the plastic
3. Tweezers to hold the plastic plate top with the eyeshadow over the flame
4. Hair pin that I bent out straight
So pry off the top part/plate of the shadow (look to my first picture...be gentle so you dont crack your shadow).
Then hold it over the flame of the candle a little tilted until you see a little hole begin to form or just until the plastic is soft enought to poke a hole through (second picture).
Then poke through the bottom with the bent out hairpin and the shadow should pop out. Be careful..! Its freakin' hot...
Clean off the glue and you are good to go! You can now add it to your Pro-palette..
Thanks for your all your tips on brushes..I checked out the coastalscents site and unfortunately it is not worth it for me..shipping is double the cost of the product to Canada! I found this great limited edition set of smashbox brushes at Shoppers Drug Mart (last one!) and it comes with EVERYTHING I need and to top it off, a pretty satin pink case =). Now onto experimenting....AND as Anonymous noted in my last post...this months issue of FASHION is fabulous! It really is....the Spring collections are stunning..Im partial to animal prints so when I came across that section I died a little ;) ..not to mention MK on the cover..how many times must I mention that (2nd last pic)!...swoons* ..and im all tired out....me in the bottom picture...taken before my hardcore de-potting session wearing my DIY Camille tank and fave sweater....haha...that should have been after :P...it was actually fun..I swear...de-stressing ...

me encanta como se te ve el pelo en la ultima foto me encanta
I also depotted all my MAC eyeshadows and put them in the same 15 spot palette. I was so excited the day I took on the project hehe
You know you can get a lipstick, OR eyeshadow...or something else I can't remember, when you return the empty packages. I currently have 5 empty cases and am looking forward to my blush running out soon, so I can get me a freebie LOL
A great idea. I didn't know you could redeem empty pots! That's amazing!
I was going to say the same thing as Mimi. For some reason Mac only verbally suggests the lipstick, but the website says lipstick, lipgloss, eyeshadow. Go for it! I've never de-potted anything. Well- I tried once & it was disasterous. Sparkly blue stuff everywhere. I wish there were smashbox sets here...what a lucky grab.
Thank you so much for your nice comment! I'm sorry that it took me so long to answer.
Great idea!
It's a good idea, but I'm not very good with crafts/DIY... i will keep my eye shadows on their pots... or I'll end with none!

Hablas español?
Just want to give you depotting advice if you want. MAC palettes are magnetized, so if you stick a piece of magnet to the bottom of the pot the shadow will magnetically be attached to the palette. I like to use the flat refrigerator magnets from pizza places and just glue them on. Or u can get magnetic sheets from any craft store.
It is really not necessary, but if you are even half as clumsy as me it may save you a few shattered shadows =)
That sounds like an awesome idea.
ugh i hate depotting!!!! buti do itanyway!
Aaaahhh!!! Why don't I have that magazine with my future wife on the cover??! why?!
