Vintage Escada Escada Escada.....

So today after going to the doctor's office (thats why I have that white little patch on my arm..not a fashion statement..haha) I decided to make a little pit stop at Value Villiage and am so glad that I did.....I found this gorgeous leather and red suede Escada belt for $2.99! It is so heavy....the hardware is really sturdy..it actually sort of reminds me of Gucci and will go great with my horsebit hobo...I also found a hand-rolled silk scarf for $0.99 that I fell in love with....wow, it seems like forever since I've been thrifting! Anyways, I said I was going to do a post on " A girl and her money" or something of the sort...BUT that will be postponed BECAUSE I will also be doing a give-away at that time so stay tuned =)!! Anyways I was reading a book by a financial advisor and money coach and came across this little story I thought I would share..it was printed in the new york times a few years ago:
"I got on a downtown train loaded with two bags of groceries. The only open seat was filled with a large shopping bag belonging to a very well-dressed woman. "Excuse me, May I sit there?" she asked. "Do you have to?" she almost hissed. Feeling angry and a little intimidated, she was relieved to hear a young man next to her say, "excuse me miss but do you think your bag deserves a seat over a person?". She replied: "But its a $3,000 dollar dress". The young man and her replied at the same time, "then you should have taken a Taxi". She moved the bag.
So yea, people are weird about their money and there are as many different behaviors as there are people...I thought this was funny and wanted to share it with you guys!

Amazing belt - and funny but true story. I wish I had your luck with thrifting, maybe people in Vancouver just don't give away designer stuff as easily. Or I'm not looking in the right neighbourhoods. Hmmmm.

That is such an awesome story! I actually laughed out loud at the end of it!

Also, what an amazing find with that belt and scarf! I am the worst vintage shopper. I can never figure out if it is because of the stores I choose or my own lack of eye for it.

Awesome story! Its true, if you're going to sport elegant or just expensive clothes and you'd prefer to be touchy about it, then take a taxi rather than the TTC.

cool belt btw
