When I was younger I had always liked going to Garage sales and rummaging on the weekends. Then summer would be over and those little weekend hunts would also end….until I discovered thrift shops! I never understood why some people were so ashamed or scared of saying the liked to thrift shop….actually I remember being told by others that I shouldn't tell people where I found my unique vintage pieces…I should just let them wonder…why? I’m not embarrassed, ashamed or trying to hide or even pretend that the awesome vintage Gucci bag I was wearing was found at some high end consignment shop etc etc…I promote being thrifty…and more so, I value a bargain…and am proud of it! It’s not even that….I enjoy the hunt as I have said many times before….it is not because I do not have money, cannot afford to buy new things (because you all know very well I do that as well :P) …I feel that there is a common misconception that the general public has towards people who thrift shop or buy things second hand (I actually did a field research project on shopping and consumption in my final year of university and loved it!)…the social dynamics of a thrift store setting are very interesting if you take the time to step outside yourself and examine it (I may not agree with some of the opinions some of my friends/colleagues might have regarding buying second hand…but I can understand their point of view…or at least try to)….shopping and consumption is very much an expression of social identity and individuals try to manage impressions in different ways…….I am comfortable with myself and the person that I am. I hold my Value Village bag proudly! Had this conversation with a couple of friends and just thought I'd share…
On to the outfit now…..these pants were another thrift find of course…$4….I could not wait to try them on and see how I would wear them…a little harder than anticipated but I think I might try a plain tee or waist skimming long sleeve shirt….we’ll see…I need to play around with it more….I also think I like them better a little rolled up…they are the most comfortable pants I have EVER tried on…better than tights and I'm not exaggerating

I absolutely adore those pants and how they look like sweet old lady pants but on you they look hot!
How do you do it ? yOU manage to take something that I would not even give a second glance into something that I must covet. now.
the photography is something else!
A+ work.
Hey you,
Personally, I think that it is nobodies business what you wear and where you buy it or how much it costs. So many people are so materialistic that it is ridiculous, they tend to overlook the person but pay more attention to what brand they are wearing or the cost of it. If you enjoy thrifting then you should be able to do it without being judged by anyone... clothes do not define a person but only enhance them :) You have a very unique and wonderful personal style and you should take a lot of pride in that.
Have a lovely day :)
Love those wedges!!! They look amazing on u!

thrifting's not for everyone
I had my reserves but now I'm all for it
I don't do it often though because there aren't many thrift shops in Israel
btw your stomach's ripped!
wow this pants are great and if I think that you paid only 4$ for them... awesome look!
can you do a post about your workout routine?! your body is amazzzing =)
agreed.
clothes are clothes and at the end of the day, as cheesy as it sounds. everything flows from the inside....it does not matter if its gucci or gap--- the most important thing you can do is just be yourself!!!
hot bod girl!
xxxx
I agree with you. Anyways, I like -I may say adore- vintage shops. You look great: love the trasparent top, your pants, the wedges, and strap...everything! If I had the same or similar cloth I would surely copy you!

This outfit is so rad - I absolutely love it! Danm, what I wouldn't give for some pants like that!
You totally own those pants. It takes a keen eye to make that sort of piece work.
Love Grace.
great outfit ! you look so great ! those pants are amazing, love your top !
Maybe they meant that you shouldn't tell anyone not because it was embarassing, but because then other people would find these places and get to all the good stuff before you! That's why I don't tell people where I get my sweet vintage finds!
omg, i love this! seek through is really 'it', though i hate that word, haha. and your pants, and your wedges...
love <3!
I like the pattern. I like them better rolled up also.
Thank you soooo much for adressing this issue. I love thrifting. I love it for so many reasons. The first one being that I am a student and I cannot afford to buy new shoes once a week if they are full price. The second being the thrill of the hunt. Discovering a brand new theory vest at goodwill? yes please. I will tell anyone who will listen about the price of my clothes. I am proud of my thrifting abilities and I am proud of the fact that I can put an outfit together for less than 20 dollars. I think it may be a matter of one's socioeconomic background, because those in upper middle class and on tend to view thrifting as something that is done by those exclusivly with monetary problems. The way I see it, is that my buget is small. I can get something that is new, but questionable quality OR I can get something that has been previously worn but of good quality. Wich one is more aesthetically pleasing? I would say the second choice.
You're so daring in the way you pair things together!
You've got a great sense of style, all your own and very refreshing.
I love those pictures!! I love the shoes :)
those PANTS are fantastic.

Oh my! You look totally and utterly gorgeous! Loove this look, especially the top and the bag<33
I too try to promote being thrifty:) I guess people become less and less embarrassed when shopping for second hand stuff, so it's going in the right direction:)
Oh god haha the pants - they made me smile though! That's the point, right? You make an impression!
Love love love your wedges :)
And I agree, cost should not be an issue - I think most people are jealous that thrifters such as yourself can find such awesome, unique stuff for next to nothing.
OMG! ONly you could pull that look off! You look fabulous! Love love love it!
I completely agree with you about thrifting...I hate when people think you are weird for going to them and I think it is hilarious when the same people say I love that where did you get it. I LOVE saying I got it at a thrift store ;) I actually get more excited to go thrift shop than the mall...
s: J dos all of the photography so its thanks to my lovely Fiancee for that! and thanks for the compliment...try it out, might look good on you too!
Marta: Agreed and thanks for the wonderful compliment <3
Dana: Haha...I would not say Ripped...but I do try to exercise when I can :P which is not often
anon 1:28: it was more of a "you should keep it hush hush because thrift shopping is embarassing" type of convo....but everyone has their opinions and I respect that
Aesthetically-Challenged: Exactly! You would not believe the gorgeous things I have found ..and the best part is...I paid the price of a starbucks Latte for most of them ;) ...with thrift shops, looking great on a tiny budget is possible and you dont have to sacrifice quality
CharmaineLi: Yes you do :P ...email you soon!
you remind of carrie bradshaw with this outfit :)
Thanks so much for your sweet comments!
