I found this Silence and Noise dress at Value Village for $4! Pretty awesome….I love finding next to new pieces at thrift store prices…actually I have not been thrifting in a little while (cutting down after coming to the stark realization that I barely have any more room to fit it all!). I will definitely still be browsing….just be a LOT more selective
Still wearing the tights….I have a feeling that these will soon become a staple in my wardrobe ;) Love them so much and for $5…form Wal-Mart…yes, Wal-Mart….I am a happy little camper
Many things coming up in the next little while that excite me: girls night/2012/Dress fittings/Lady Gaga/Dress fittings/Work trip/packing/vacation!!!!!!!/6 months engaged as of November 16/
On a side note…..I made the yummiest soup yesterday and just HAD to share the recipe with you guys because 1. It tastes amazing (didn't have any complaints!) 2. Its healthy and 3. Pretty foolproof …the hardest part was peeling the butternut squash (I thought I might chop my fingers off! so be careful)
Here goes: my (well not MINE technically but you know what I mean :P) first recipe to the blog (got it from J’s mom)…I might include one every now and again because lately I have really gotten into the joy of cooking…experimenting a lot!
Curried Butternut Squash Soup (you can use pumpkin too)
2 tsp Olive Oil / 1 onion, chopped/ 3 cloves of Garlic, finely chopped (I added 5 cloves)/ 1 tbsp Curry paste or powder/ 1 good size diced peeled Butternut Squash (mine was 3 and half pounds…use 4 pounds preferably)/ 4 cups of Vegetable Stock, chicken stock or Water (or mix half water and half stock …what I did)/ Salt to taste / 2 tbsp (25 ml) toasted sliced almonds (optional)
1. Heat the oil in a saucepan on medium heat. Add onion and garlic and cook for 5-8 minutes or until tender. If mix starts to burn then add a little water.
2. Stir in curry paste and cook for 30 seconds.
3. Add squash and cook for a few minutes. Add the stock and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and cook gently for 30 minutes.
4. Puree the soup until smooth. Return to heat and thin with some water if necessary. Add salt if necessary.
5. Sprinkle almonds on top (optional)
I would LOVE to know any recipes you guys recommend so I might try out at home! (maybe paste a link from an online recipe?)
Off to watch One Tree Hill and sip some hot cocoa make with milk....I have gotten into this bad habit right before bed....puts me right to sleep (Timothy's brand Hot Chocolate is one of my faves)...

dude! i can rarely find dresses at value village for $4 let alone nice ones! they seem to be jacking up the prices there lately. boo.
oh also - just emailed my mom one of your pictures to ask for those tights for christmas - you think they're still at walmart??
City-Love- thanks girlie!! I am a big soup fan :P
L- haha that made me laugh ...thanks =)
Mich- The only reason I got it for that price was because they thought it was a shirt...lol..it was in that section...and even then I was surprised too! The prices have been increasing ..
Mich - and I dont know whether different wal marts have different stock but they classified these as fishnets (so would be grouped with those!)
That curried butternut squash soup sounds amazing.
Grace.
Love the black&white pic!

all your outfits would benfit greatly if you threw them away and never thought of them again...

Really love the combination of prints, embellishments, and fabrics. And I wish I could cook but unfortunately I am hopeless in the kitchen...
whatever... if i passed by her on the street i'd think she was a hooker... and not a high class one.
Ouch, why do meanies always leave their stabs as anon? I wouldn't wear those tights myself, but only b/c I'm not brave enough to pull them off! I love this outfit! She looks like she came straight from a 90s rock video. I say, keep it coming.ty
Killer outfit Ashleigh!
the starving stylist- gracias!
anon 9:31- LMAO! just the look I was going for ;)
MizzJ- Thanks, and I'm open to all comments really...its kind of expected!I think you could pull them off ..if you really wanted to :P xo
Hey! I have a dress that is kinda similar to yours and I have no clue how to keep it going through the fall. It is more cream-coloured, with an orange/green floral pattern and I could probably get away with some tights like yours (but less dramatic). What could you wear on the top and on your feet besides what you have done in these posts? I am sans-leather jacket :(
Keep up the outfit posts!!
Great images!
i LOVE the boots!!
