Smokey Eyes

I need to invest in a serious little palette to perfect the smokey eye look that I will probably attempt for Valentines day ... I also need to get a few good brushes....any suggestions? I was thinking of buying a MAC palette and then just filling in similar colors to the above Stila ones...also, i've heard crazy things about the Urban Decay primer potion in champagne...I'll let you guys know how that goes! I would also love to know which products you "cant live without"...

Its so beautiful and just screams Yurman....If you have not already done so, check out David Yurman...very beautiful and unique peices...pricey though :s...and yes ..thats the beautiful Mossy ..in one of his ads...gawwwd she's gorgeous! I think if I were to invest in a statement peice ...it would be Yurman. Classic. Beauty.

Good Morning

Every morning I wake up to my little peek (I call him that because he is always in the same spot..peeking over the pillows) that I love to peices. He's like a little person, and man ..what an attitude! He is definately not a morning dog...Look at that face...picture 2...he has bed head from being in the same spot for so long! haha...we have something in common ;)

Today I decided to go back to basics and wear my black blazer which I have one too many of...this one is one of my faves that I picked up at Value Villiage a while back ...the material is so luxurious. I was debating between prints or solid tee...decided to go with the solid plain tee just because its going to be a long day :s....those days call for comfy jeans and cute flats...

Blazer: Vintage thrifted
Plaid Shirt: My little brothers...it no longer fits him so I welcomed it into my wardrobe :P
White shirt: HM
Jeans: Habitual

P.s . Thanks so much for all the emails, comments and just nice wishes in general regarding the WWW myspace muse feature! You guys are all so sweet and luv you all.....

Dangerous

"If a little knowledge is dangerous, where is the man who has so much that he is out of danger?"-
Thomas Huxley

Tips for staying warm:
- wear layers (duh!) and stay away from the shoes in the pictures above- no warmth whatsoever...I swear, I think I did some damage to the vascularization in my toes!
- If you drive, wear leather gloves ...I never leave anywhere without mine
- Chunky scarves...theyre chic and functional ;)
- A serious parka (the one im wearing in this pictures is NOTHING compared to my North Face parka...le bf bought it for xmas and its the warmest thing ever
- wear tights under jeans/pants
- construction socks (warmest ever but hard to stuff into shoes....the ones im wearing in this pic are HM...I have a serious collection of socks (and underwear)....maybe I should show you guys one day...well minus the underwear )
Stay warm ...for those of you living in the North....and for those of you in Cali....im jealous :P
XXX
and I know....Im attatched to these pants..so much so that I think a little surgical intervention might be necessary to pry them off me...I'll try not to wear them tomorrow:P

It also seems I have been addicted to purple lately, which to be honest, is a little out of character....then again...whats IN character?! Could not resist for $8....I swear, I should change the name of this blog to rantings of a thrift addict or Frugal fashion or something ...haha...I might wear it to Anne's engagement party...its knee length so totally appropriate with a cute cardi..maybe leopard ;)

Lois Lane Vintage

For those of you who don't have the time to rummage through vintage shop racks which for the most part I find are overpriced...or for those who want something truly unique- vintage but with a modern touch......check out http://www.loislanevintage.com/

Lois runs her own vintage website for Ladies, featuring tops, dresses, outerwear and accessories from the 1940's through to the 1980's. 90% of the garments sold are reconstructed by her and the designs are a perfect mix of vintage fabrics and style with contemporary and fashion forward silhouettes. She hand sews many of the embellishments and a great deal of hard work goes into the reconstructed peices that are featured on her site. The clothes are one of a kind and the best part is that they are affordable while still maintaining a high end designer look to them. I also find that vintage clothes are generally better made - they've proved to stand the test of time!

shipping fee's are about $5 within the U.S and $8 internationally and she accepts Paypal
Enjoy! Even if its just to peruse the awesome looks for ideas of your own.... =)

Day of Rest ...

....yea not for me...its a day of getting caught up on all the work I have to finish...boo... anyways...here are the pants! I swear I love them so much that I was considering buying them in red and blue too...but I honestly have way too many pairs of jeans that I hardly wear and just end up giving away to friends most of the time...which reminds me, I will probably be doing a little give-away soon so keep your eyes peeled :P....
That bag is the new love- the leather is so soft and perfect - its a laptop bag, but meh, I also use it as a purse...well after spending some time in my two fave places (starbs and wal-mart) its back to the drawing board...i.e. My semi-enclosed dungeon otherwise known as my study room...

Construct

Latest family member to add to my collection of thrifted and vintage sweaters...I have thermal socks which are super warm and thought...why not transcend to the next level, that being....sweaters (I dont know about thermal pants- dont think I can wrap my head around that idea yet...haha)! For $5, whether it was a hit or miss, didnt matter because either way it'd be perfect to even lounge around in with my thermals and coffee on chilly nights at home...
Lately I've been addicted to brie cheese...I swear I ate a whole block on my own...that and Sushi....yesterday le bf and I totally indulged in a huge sushi platter on Bloor street.....hard on the wallet but yum for the tums ;)... Hope you are all having a relaxing weekend

Sweater: Thrifted
Rings: Both gifts from the mama (she just came back from a trip and brought me a diamond criss cross ring...so beautiful)
Socks: Forever
I cant wait for the weather to get better so I can start taking outdoor shots! :s

2. pick the 4th picture in the folder

3. explain the picture

This was at Niagara falls ... I think it was for our (le bf and I) anniversary. That beer was so huge, I dont even think I polished it off! mmmm and I remember the wings and the bluecheese..another one of my fave foods ;) I also had long hair...which I am trying to grow back! This was taken just a couple months before I decided to chop it all off...

I tag.....anyone who wants to complete this! and if you do, message me and let me know please ;)

Faces of my Wardrobe

If I could describe my wardrobe, it would definately include the fact that it is slightly disorganized with a little dash of multiple personality.
This pretty much reflects the fact im constantly changing, evolving which some like, and some not so much...but its part of who I am and I know that...Fashion, similary is not static, always changing ...and is probably one of the reasons it fascinates me....
I just bought a bunch of clothes for about $2 a peice at an outlet ...and those purple acid wash jeans were $10 (the ones I mentioned in the last post).. Just thought I'd showcase some of the peices I picked up for a total of about $15.

Payday

The two most beautiful words in the English language are "cheque enclosed."- Dorothy Parker

It's almost Fridays guys! Its been a rough week but ... judging from taking a look at my trusty sidekick a.k.a agenda (that I would go nutz over if I ever lost)...It will only get all the more intense...more the reason to try and stay on top of the ball and two steps ahead of the game...I should really stay away from the cliches...haha...overkill

Lightening Touch

#1= The Body Shop Lightening Touch
Co$t= $14
#2= YSL Touche Eclat
Co$t= approx $50
After reading many reviews on both products and desperately needing a new on-the-go concealer I decided to give both products a try. There is a huge price difference between the two products so..... it would make logical sense to see a huge difference in the quality. As with many products with fancy packages- this was not the case. I actually preferred the Body Shop product just because it did not make me look as "dewey". It has light reflecting pigments and covers up fine lines and dark circle and I love the twist brush ... perfect for my "on-the-subway" makeup routine!

Buyers Remorse

Its not you ...its me...I should have thought about it a little more before I made the commitment...
Yea...those shoes...the ones I wore with the super sky high stripper heel? From Browns? Theyre going back..I thought it over, I probably will not get much use out of them...although very sexy... and I have a crapload of books to buy which are probably more important right now than another pair of shoes :P....
Lace, Sequins, and leopard .....I just cant get enough....
and that dress in the second pic....I thrifted it for a whole $5!
P.s. I finally got the hair did .... blonde..again...but I've been thinking recently of adding in some brown ...since I do have dark features...we'll see..Im always up for a change ;)
Buh Bye rootage....See you in about a month ;)

I Need More Room...

...Seriously, no pun intended....my room is about the size of a shoebox BUT you work with what you have...and I'm thankful to even have my own room so I should not complain! I am still organizing and decorating my room. I need to get a nice bedspread and probably some new curtains (the burgundy is a tad depressing)....I also need to get a large black bulletin board which will be my "ïnspiration board" so that I can post up all my fave pictres and little knick knacks. If I have time, hopefully I can make a little pit stop at Ikea this weekend and pick up a few things =). As you can see I have a thing for the Beatles, Marilyn, Audrey and ESPECIALLY James Dean (mostly because when I was younger...and still today...I always thought Dean was a spitting image of my grandfather in his younger days). I also need a record player so that I can finally blast those beatles tunes/records I have acquired over the years...In the last picture you can see I store my sparkley jewelry and pearls in vintage saucers...and yes, just under my grandmothers poodle is a nice big tub of YSL Creme Essentielle de Rose....expensive but so worth it....

Also, If you guys have any suggestions/ideas in regards to new curtains ...shoot me a message! I'd really appreciate it

Do You Ever...

...have a peice of clothing in mind that you want to wear...like, this beige cashmere sweater for example....and then play around with other peices and accesories only to find...you walk out the house wearing something totally different than what you had envisioned in your head? Yea, well happens to me all the time.... :P...I thought I would wear my faux fur jacket..then I thought I would wear my actual fur collar (as a scarf) then decided the on the leather....when my actual outfit when I FINALLY made up my mind consisted of picture 2 and 3 put together. Leather and fur. Sorry no final pic ..but you can envision it ..right? Sounds weird ...but looks real cute!

Tip: If you thrift a lot you have probably come across faux or real fur collars. Dont totally dismiss them because you can work them into your wardobe by either wearing it as a scarf and pinning it or attatching it to a cheaper jacket you may have at home to give it a luxe look.

The red jacket is one of the Christmas gifts that I received from my mama...its from Banana Republic and is surprisingly warmer than it looks.
