Christian Siriano

First picture, dress to the right.....in cream color, thats my future wedding dress...I swear! Everything I could hope for in a dress...well except a tad longer in the front...but still short (I know, Im dreaming...haha).. I am loving Siriano's designs and super excited for his collaboration with Payless shoes. You can bet I will be one of the first inline...I think it is supposed to debut spring 2009...I could be wrong, if anyone knows the exact date I would greatly appreciate if you let me know in the comments section! Although this shoe collection is not entirely original and is quite reminiscent of Rodarte's line, I am still in love...and who dosnt love an affordable alternative?!

Vintage Escada Escada Escada.....

So today after going to the doctor's office (thats why I have that white little patch on my arm..not a fashion statement..haha) I decided to make a little pit stop at Value Villiage and am so glad that I did.....I found this gorgeous leather and red suede Escada belt for $2.99! It is so heavy....the hardware is really sturdy..it actually sort of reminds me of Gucci and will go great with my horsebit hobo...I also found a hand-rolled silk scarf for $0.99 that I fell in love with....wow, it seems like forever since I've been thrifting! Anyways, I said I was going to do a post on " A girl and her money" or something of the sort...BUT that will be postponed BECAUSE I will also be doing a give-away at that time so stay tuned =)!! Anyways I was reading a book by a financial advisor and money coach and came across this little story I thought I would share..it was printed in the new york times a few years ago:
"I got on a downtown train loaded with two bags of groceries. The only open seat was filled with a large shopping bag belonging to a very well-dressed woman. "Excuse me, May I sit there?" she asked. "Do you have to?" she almost hissed. Feeling angry and a little intimidated, she was relieved to hear a young man next to her say, "excuse me miss but do you think your bag deserves a seat over a person?". She replied: "But its a $3,000 dollar dress". The young man and her replied at the same time, "then you should have taken a Taxi". She moved the bag.
So yea, people are weird about their money and there are as many different behaviors as there are people...I thought this was funny and wanted to share it with you guys!

Lagerfeldified

The french ad ...as the title suggests..is completely 'feldified...only HE can make safety gear seem like such a statement peice....its nice to see people in positions of power use that for a greater purpose than simply benefitting their own interests..for this, I commend Karl (although im sure some sort of compensation was involved..or maybe not...who knows)...and of course, the gloves, and the glasses....I dont think I have seen one picture of Karl without his glasses! AND here are the new little storage containers that I bought at Dollarama....the pink ones were 3 for a dollar and the boxes were $1 each... I think I might get a few more to store some of my costume jewelry....its really practical because you can label them ...they have little slots where you can insert a peice of paper =). Today I also took my graduation photos....haha ..cant wait to see how THOSE turn out :s...I was red and flushed from running and the cold and JUST made it to mt appointment...to top it off...my hair was a poofball by mid-day...luckily I had my Fekkai smoothing cream on hand ;) ...I might post them when they are made available online in a few weeks and maybe you guys can help me choose which to purchase!
Have a great midweek guys.....

Post to come soon....."A Girl and her Money"
During these hard times, I think it is on almost everybody's mind...

And its only been a couple days....

You know the cliché that says, you only realize how much you love something until its gone (haha and not too long in my case :P)? Well, I did not think that I was going to get the response that I did from my last post and a few of you made some great points that I really took into consideration. First off, although this blog may not be a personal diary... and may not fully reflect the person that I am....it does not matter. Fashion is a big part of my life and has been since I was a little girl. Fashion in itself is a form of expression and to me a very important one... Although I may not talk about my deepest most personal thoughts (for which I think I will limit to paper....haha) which I am entitled to...this is something that I do enjoy and I thought about this over a couple days... not every thing has to have a concretet purpose..although some may beg to differ...I do not have many friends who take much interest in fashion and makeup (and by that I mean scoring the net for trends and inspiration..mags...makeup..etc) so this is sort of my outlet....people evolve and change and this blog is something that over time may do just the same....but for now...I think I am going to keep it as is....Thanks Guys and I hope you enjoy....

Double Hugs to all my regulars ... Like I said, I read each and every comment and thank you for all your support, suggestions etc! (and of course Anne...who quickly messaged me with her advice....Lubbs You!)

Of course, can't do a post without some pics....sooo....here it is..... remember that body con zipper skirt from UB? Well its now a tube top :P...this is my "exam outfit" ..well with a sweater on top
P.s. Did my physio test today and it was a little trickier than expected...I think it went alright though... also....I bought some new little storage containers from the dollar store that I love...theyre to store my makeup which I moved to my dresser table area....and cant wait to show you guys!

Need to Reflect.........Exclusion...

...no longer shitty when there is an explanation behind it....especially ones that make total sense....Wish you guys an awesome Sunday!
;)
Lesson of the day: Sometimes its not always about you....you know?!

Also, I dont think this blog is an accurate reflection of me at all (which I guess it does not have to be...its a fashion blog..)...I may start a new one..thats a bit more personal...I will figure out what im going to do ...I have been thinking about this for a little while now....I will always appreciate those of you who have stuck by me and my blog though and love all of you (the comments, emails, etc)....

also, I dont even know who reads this thing....for all I know, my boss could be reading my posts...which could be weird...lol

Chaos

Yes, that is one of the Sanrio HK watches from McD's in that first shot...haha....hey, it was a dollar, and I forgot my watch :P....also, I was really impressed with the cremesheen collection at MAC and had to pick up the now sold out Lavendar Whip which comes out a pinky with bluish undertones color...Love....I have been lacking in the outfit posts area..mostly due to the weather..its snowing like MAD right now...but my house is warm, so cut-offs work..plus, im drinking coffee..of course..to keep warm :P....I really need to get my shiz together....just look at that last shot....thats the corner of my room...where everything sort of "ends-up"...that basket is full of clothes I need to hang....and it dosnt help that I have been wearing the same thing practically everyday (black and leather) .....for now, I will be all up on the physio (Tues is the big day :P)! and my makeup ..to keep me looking alive....haha....as for the title, thats the name of my MAC hello kitty tinted lip conditioner...Pink Fish...so gorgeous....I am returning the one called cute-ster just because its totally lac lustre and looks like I might as well be wearing blistex...no color and defeats the purpose of me spending $ on it...

Mack and J

My mornings always start off by seeing this furry little face (my mack....My yorkies nickname :P)...we studied for a bit, took a couple breaks and then J..le Bf...came to pick me up for coffee and to go with him to one of his job sites...then we passed by MAC so I could pick up the new Studio Sculpt foundation in NC25 that I got as a sample and ended up loving....so there you go anonymous...I went with MAC which I have never done before for foundation :s...le Bf went as fas as saying that I had perfect skin today! wow.....haha as you can see in the first picture I have my trusty mug of coffee and my notes which I will be getting back to right about now....I am just feeling so lazy..its the McDonalds..haha...you can see it in the last couple of pics... also, as per req. I have some better shots of the bag which is a laptop bag but for me, it doubles as a purse ;)...oh and those shoes....Love...studs and leather laces..need I say more?! I also picked up a cute vintage waist belt at Value Villiage which you will guys see shortly...Lastly, I will be all over 90210 later ..... its pretty much the only show I watch like a religion..alright...back to work....:s

Oh and Yes...I do realize I have been wearing pretty much the same thing the last couple days...what can I say other than..Im really digging black right now! This is my "I have been studying and therefore decided to just wear my sweater and wife beater out of the house and last pair of jeans thrown on the floor" look...

Family Day

Today is a holiday in Ontario called family day...so of course, the whole family and I all went to Mandarin (we are all big eaters...haha...) because they have awesome buffet....I have a really big family and these sorts of occasions are pretty much the only times we can all get together so it was nice. I decided to wear my super comfy Calvin Klein boots that my Mama gave me for Christmas and my fave black Marciano skinnies (sale of course :P) along with my Zara leather. UDP to prime the eyes and my MAC palette that im so in love with. So glad that I depotted all the shadows...basically what you see on my dresser are my fave products for when I go out..I just need a new foundation...I was using Bare Minerals but for some reason, lately I find that it has been really drying out my skin to the point where it looks powdery...not nice :s...so I may have to switch it up! Im devouring my Bobbi Brown book and still not over the latest edition of FASHION featuring Mary Kate on the cover....I just might have to frame it..haha....This summer you will def be seeing me in tons of prints...for now, Im feeling blacks, beige and browns...Hope you all had a great start to the week....and of course, nothing new or surprising...I must jet off and go...what else...study :s

So we both decided to be relaxed and comfortable for Vday so I wore my exposed zipper skirt with a striped top and fave Wilfred batwing sweater and a new bracelet that the lovely people at http://www.ice.com/ sent me :) ...Its 18K rose gold over sterling silver and if you check their jewelry store, the prices are completely decent with super fast shipping and a certficate of authenticity..the packaging it came in was also really beautiful =)...

Thirteenth

Yep....today is my lucky day as some of you may already know ;)....Friday the 13th...always has been for as long as I can remember..haha...just a little tradition I guess...I always do something on fri 13th...tonight le Bf and I went to dinner and I had the Strongest Mango Martini that I have EVER had... tomorrow he is taking me to watch Confessions of a Shopaholic which I heard was not the greatest but still something I had been looking forward to for some time so either way...Im going...then I can judge for myself....I was playing around with my makeup which you will probably also be seeing more of....I tried to do a smokey eye look (just practicing for the big 'ol Vday and the outfit was one that I was considering wearing...I tight beige body con dress from Bebe, faux fur vintage jacket and my leopard Kors belt...of course, if I wear this I will have to tone down the makeup and maybe go for a smokey brown look rather than black....I should not have worn my glasses in the last shot....sorry...I was happy with the result ;) and even happier with my new brush set! what are you guys up to for Vday?.............
Wishing you all much love <3

Throughout the Day

I am running on 3 hours of sleep...picture #1 is what I was staring at for the past few hours after my last exam at 9pm...went home last night and started studying for the next one that was at 12pm and pretty much have not slept since. I think it went well...it was not a science course so I didnt have 20,000 molecular pathways and diseases to remember! As you can tell, Red bull is my fuel during exams...at least when they are back to back...coffee just dosnt cut it :P ...haha I look like im dead in the second shot...that picture was taken at 6:30 am!....after my exam I decided to pass my MAC since I had my six cases to return for a free lipgloss (I got C thru lipglass) and could not resist picking up a purple-y pink shade from the Hello Kitty collection that just recently launched. Im a sucker for cute packaging and girly colors....I also got come E.L.F eyeshadows at Winners that cost me $8 for 8 shades, a brush and a liner!

VDay ... its almost here

This was last Vday ...I think....lol...I swear I have had my hair every color of the rainbow ..well except neon..I did do pink in highschool for a few days at one point! Anyways....I wore traditional red, pearls, cream colored Rebecca Taylor silky jacket..the whole shabam...this year, im thinking I may steer clear of traditional reds and pinks....we'll see..Im still having trouble picking what the heck it is im going to wear though....well...guess you will see soon enough :P! This was at Mistura in Toronto..if you have never been there...google it..the food was AMAZING...a little pricey but completely worth it..I recommend the boars meat...sounds weird but SO good..

Im officially a MOH

So today was my girl Anne's engagement party...it was honestly so beautiful, she and her fiance looked gorgeous and it was just a great time with great food overall! I dont know if you can tell, but her hair was done in a faux hawk sort of style from the back...her sister is a hairdresser and does some amazing work! It was also announced that I was her Maid of Honour (hence the title....MOH..haha) and my bf is her fiances best man...yea we are sort of a clan...like a mini-family...lol....She might put in extensions for me just because I have grad photos coming up and im impatient to wait for my hair to grow out on its own....I wore the purple dress which I shortened, with black tights, cardi and a leopard waist belt...I also got to try out the new brushes and took a shot so you can see the final results after applying the shadow (oh and of course, I used the Urban Decay primer ;)....the brushes made a huge difference...I used a medium brown matte eyeshadow as a base, black near the lashes and smudged up along with a bluish grey at the crease and a nude color to highlight the brow bone....I was happy with the results =)
Well....hope you all had a fantastic weekend...Im off to tackle a couple more exams :s

De-potting

So after much "research" on how to depot the Mac eyeshadows so that #1..I could redeem the pots for a free lipstick and #2 so that I could have all my shades in one convenient palette! I decided to take some shots so that you could visualize how I did it...maybe you want to do the same.

Things you will need to de-pot your shadows:
1. Knife to pry off the plastic top of the shadow case
2. Candle to melt the plastic
3. Tweezers to hold the plastic plate top with the eyeshadow over the flame
4. Hair pin that I bent out straight

So pry off the top part/plate of the shadow (look to my first picture...be gentle so you dont crack your shadow).
Then hold it over the flame of the candle a little tilted until you see a little hole begin to form or just until the plastic is soft enought to poke a hole through (second picture).
Then poke through the bottom with the bent out hairpin and the shadow should pop out. Be careful..! Its freakin' hot...
Clean off the glue and you are good to go! You can now add it to your Pro-palette..

Thanks for your all your tips on brushes..I checked out the coastalscents site and unfortunately it is not worth it for me..shipping is double the cost of the product to Canada! I found this great limited edition set of smashbox brushes at Shoppers Drug Mart (last one!) and it comes with EVERYTHING I need and to top it off, a pretty satin pink case =). Now onto experimenting....AND as Anonymous noted in my last post...this months issue of FASHION is fabulous! It really is....the Spring collections are stunning..Im partial to animal prints so when I came across that section I died a little ;) ..not to mention MK on the cover..how many times must I mention that (2nd last pic)!...swoons* ..and im all tired out....me in the bottom picture...taken before my hardcore de-potting session wearing my DIY Camille tank and fave sweater....haha...that should have been after :P...it was actually fun..I swear...de-stressing ...
