Here is the look I did last night for dinner and karaoke with some friends =) And as some of you suggested.....I am posting my favorite brushes and also a few other products that I have been using alot lately.....First off ..I want to mention that some of these brushes can be costly so by no means am I saying you need to go out and buy them all at once.....MAC brushes are something you have to sort of budget in....at $30-$40 a peice they are certainly not cheap....However, I am going to do a mini review on my fave MAC, Lancome and Quo brushes (and I have tried out a lot of brushes.....my Smashbox travel set....waste of money.....theyre not very good.....and I know I mentioned them before on this blog....)
In terms of products.....I had someone ask me about my fave eyeliner and I must say BY FAR it is Loreal Lineur Intense which I have been using for years.....also my Annabelle black smoothliner which I think is only available in Canada....its similar to MAC smolder but more smudgable (if thats a word...haha)
Another great product is MAC painterly paint pot which I like to use to even out any discoloration on my eyelids ....and trust me..theres a lot....I like this, it also prevents creasing...its similar to Urban Decay primer potion but sans the annoying genie bottle that you have to cut open to get every last bit of product out! I also included by faves for a neutral eye (an everyday look) which is my Dior quad in 030 and Revlon skinlights creme shadow in 730 (these wear off though after maybe 5ish hours..I still like it)
On to the
Foundation which is Revlon Colorstay Combination/Oily skin in 180 Sand Beige which is the same as MAC NC25 just so you guys have a reference....
Pros:
-it stays matte
- awesome color range
-way cheaper than MAC and looks just as good
- a little goes a long way
- diminishes the look of yucky pores and does not clog them
- easy access..you can find it at walmart, shoppers or pretty much any drug store
- lasts all day
- super cheap
Cons:
- Its more of a full coverage and I would not say its really buildable
- smells a little funny but I dont mind it at all
To be honest ...I really love it...and would recommend this over spending $35 on a name brand foundation....best thing is to try it out ...they had testers at walmart which is how I matched up my color....I also went on to
http://www.makeupalley.com/ to check which color would match best with my usual MAC NC25 skin color....

NOW on to the brushes......
To be honest if I were to pick three brushes and only use these brushes it would be my
MAC 109 which can be used to contour the face, apply blush and even foundation for an airbrushed look which is what I have been doing lately.....
MAC 239 which is for all over lid colour...a really basic brush........and lastly, my
MAC 217 blending brush which is pretty much an all purpose brush that can be used to apply coloour to the lid, highlight and you can even use it in the crease! I would recommend the 217 (this is the key to great makeup...a good blending brush) and the 239 as great starter brushes! HOWEVER, if you cannot afford to spend $30 on a brush....go to your local arts and crafts store and look into paint brushes...the Lowe Cornelle brushes are top quality and highly comparable to MAC brushes....
Now onto the other brushes....
I LOVE LOVE LOVE my QUO Bronzing Brush to apply my Mineralize skinfinish....or obviously bronzer....its super soft, if just like the MAC 187 only less than half the price! Also, Shoppers tends to have a 40% off sale every now and then for these brushes so keep that in mind....
next it Quo Ultra fine liner brush and the tapered brush is the crease shadow brush that I love ....its so soft and perfect when Im trying to do a smokey look.
The MAC 187 stippling brush is used for my Mineralize duo blushers or when I have a really pigmented blush because it disperses color really finely over the skin so you dont look like a clown....its anexpensive brush, not essential but if you are REALLY into blushers you might want to invext in it...
Lastly, my Lancome brush to the far right is the #8 brush and I generally use it to buff out foundation (which you can also use the contour 109 brush for)
These are truly my fave brushes and if you guys have any suggestions or fave products let me know! I would love to.....
any other suggestions or questions ...shoot them at me in the comments section and I will reply back to your responses
