Celebration

Today was packed with tons of things to do....so I'll tell you guys about it .....J and I woke up this morning pretty early considering we went out to a birthday party yesterday and got home at around 3am....we had our breakfast coffee and a couple boston creams....mmm my fave donut...we went for brunch with the family and some friends at the Dundas Grille which is always packed on Sundays.....then I was off to help my little cuz shop (I bought nothing :P)...met up with Anne and Frank for a bit... and later on was a dinner celebration with J's parents and his godmother for their 25th wedding anniversary =)....it was just non stop eating and running around! This is what I wore to dinner ...

Dress: HM
Scarf: Thrifted
Purse: Vintage Chanel
Shoes: Nine West

Here is the "vanity" table/dresser in my room (for you Lola :P) ...I kind of just have a bunch of my fave products that I am currently using there along with a mirror that lights up which is currently on my bed at the moment and not in the picture....I like to keep things in little dollar store containers for easy access and I can see all the products and I just got another jar from walmart to store more of my brushes....p.s. Shoppers Drug Mart is having a sale on their QUO brushes (40% off) and I HIGHLY recommend the skunk brush (its the one in the jar to the right and its the two toned brush to the far left) that they recommend using for bronzer...$22 plus 40% off for you Canadians!....I also keep stuff in my washroom but we wont even go there for now :s....I need to do some serious re-organizing! haha.....
Hope you all had a great weekend....
p.s. Im still on the search for a low priced (decent quality...prefer cotton) plain maxi dress.....hopefully in white...I will keep searching and let you know if and when I find it ....

Fave products right now

This is the Normadern anti-imperfection hydrating care cream that I would not recommend if what you are looking for is a moisturizer to hydrate your skin. That is not what this product does...I find it mattifies my skin and is absorbed quick which is great before I put on makeup and it apparently fights bacteria and such (recently my skin has become a tad problematic which means I need to be pickier with my creams)...so far so good...
I obsessed with the MAC quads (theyre $4) and it is so much cheaper than buying them in the little pots...its 13$ for a pan of eyeshadow versus $17 and its so much easier to build a mini-palette you can just pop into your purse. Right now im loving the color Phloof to highlight, Sketch in the crease and Satin Taupe all over the lid up to the crease =) (p.s. this actual quad is the tempting quad by MAC)

You all know how much I love this! I am liking it more than my MAC studio sculpt...I guess it is similar to MAX studio fix fluid but at less than half the price ....if you can put up with the slightly alcoholic smell during application...I say try it out ;)

This MAC Golden Bronze powder came out with the new MAC Golden Warrior collection and I love the subtle sheen it gives to the skin...I always get compliments on it ....you can mix it with cream and apply to the body too so its def a versatile product. I even use it as eyeshadow sometimes when I want a sunkissed/broze goddess look...haha..the package is HUGE so it lasts forever...

I have been using this on my legs and it does work...just be careful because it can easily become habit and if you use it too much ....you could end up with funny looks for looking like an orange oompa loompa!

Lastly, My fave two MAC brushes for eyeshadow application would be the 217 and 239 brush by far! They are pricey however last for years if you take good care of them. I wash them about once a week with MAC cleaner but a cheaper alternative is to use baby shampoo ...

I am still in the process of hunting down my camera :( But J and I should have some more shots for you by Sunday! Hope youall have a great weekend... im off to party with the girls as its by girls Bday party today ....we will be hopping around the downtown area
Maybe ill post some pics later ;)
P.s. any fave products that YOU have? Shoot them in the comments section!

Im still looking for my Sony camera....I have no idea where that thing went....when I need it I cant find it :s.... i've searched high and low and im just hoping that thing will pop up somewhere....
Well I hope to show you guys my new makeup and vanity over the weekend....hopefully Sunday because Saturday will be a busy busy day...its my girl Carina's 23rd birthday so we are going out for her party...most likely a downtown lounge/club

Divorced from Shopping ....for myself

Im not going to lie...I have been wearing this shirt non stop....so much so that J actually said....babe..again? Dont you have other clothes... haha...thats an understatement....I probably have enough clothes to cover a mini army...BUT I have become so attatched to this shirt- its so breezy, loose, chic and comfortable! Im loving the idea of wearing all light colors this summer, beige and whites but I have noticed that I dont have much beige in my wardobe and as the title notes...I need to be shopping for others and not myself...that and I dont really have the money right now to be going crazy on a new summer wardobe.....so you guys can look forward to outfits and peices that have been reincorporated into different looks....and also more thrift and vintage finds ....I have not had much time to thrift lately but hopefully soon....I have been reading a lot....whenever I get the chance, on the bus, at night, on the porch....etc....right now im reading Interview with the Vampire and LOVE it so far....
Well im off to volleyball downtown with J so got to run.....we are late :s

Clearly

Today J and I went to his University to hand in some last assignments and pick up grad tickets....had lunch with a friend and then went to the eye doc (not so much fun) to get a new prescription for me as my sight is getting progressively worse :s.....I also picked up a new set of contacts to try out since summer is coming and I want to wear sunglasses and actually be able to see.....I will be testing them out....we also went to High Park and walked around ....its a beautiful park ....the water is not that clean though which you can probably see from the pictures! I am wearing the dress I got last year from Sirens for $10....it has sort of a 90s grunge vibe to it....for some reason I can never seem to find a thrifted version of this dress.....I have yet to find a thrifted grunge dress....I have the day off tomorrow as well so again, I have some running around to do and will probably meet up with my friend to go buy bridal gifts for a shower....eeekkk...it seems like the money just keeps flying out my account and none of it is for me....meaning, my spending has been seriously cut back especially because I have a lot more to pay for...I still have to show you guys my grad dress....I guess I will just show you when I actually wear it to grad :P.....I am looking forward to walking into convocation hall and walking out with my diploma as a UofT alumni.....haha...the culmination of my sweat, tears and hard work ....man, a lot of hard work!

Strolling Yorkville - Happy 7 years!!

As per your request I have included a couple of the proposal pictures =) ...It was at the Danny Z show and he had it planned for a while....I thought I was in for a magic trick but instead ended up with a proposal and beautiful ring. Sometimes magic isnt always done with a trick as Danny had noted ;)....After the show we went back to the hotel which was the Mariott and he told me he was going to go valet his car ...instead he went back to our room while I was with Anne and arranged over a hundred candles, rose petals at the floor entrance and on the bed and champagne with a bubble bath...it was so romantic and I could not have asked for a more perfect end to the night!

Yesterday was our 7 year anniversary and we decided to keep it low key and just go for ice cream and coffee downtown in Yorkville which I guess is kind of like the Rodeo drive of Toronto....haha....We had no problems finding parking this time amidst the multitude of Lambo's, Ferarri's, and Bentley's ....J was drooling...I had my fave mint choclate chip ice cream.....mmmm

On to the outfit.....
The shirt is from Suzy Sheer and I can gurantee you I will be wearing this thing A LOT....It is so loose and breezy and just the perfect length...The jeans are J brand and I got them at Winners on sale for about $25 I think? Most of my jeans are bought on sale as I have a hard time shelling out $200 for just one pair...and many of my jeans are also thrifted which are some of my fave pairs.

Makeup:

I am wearing MAC Golden bronze translucent powder which has fine shimmers and is my new love for summer. You can mix it with cream to put on your legs or foundation for a dewey look. I just dusted some over my MAC mineralize skinfinish in Petticoat (which I do not really recommend for fair skin but if you are medium to Dark it is great!). I am also wearing my fave MAC eyeshadow in Satin Taupe and Sketch in the crease which is a dark plum color. The liner is MAC fluidline in Backtrack.

Jeans: J brand
Shirt: Suzy Sheer
Necklace: Sears on sale for $5
Bag: Gucci
Shoes: Winners

P.s. I responded to questions in the last post =) Check the comments if you asked me a question!

Running Around with the Fiancé

Today I had a lot of running around to do as I have my friends baby shower coming up (I bought the cutest stuffed animal, knit cardigan and jumper for her little boy to be), a bridal shower for my friend getting married in August and my girl Carina's birthday! I bought her some stuff from MAC that she wanted =). Le Bf who is now Le Fiance (sounds weird...I know, but in a good way...that was my little surprise!) and I ran errands together mostly for me, and I helped him finish off an essay on Health and the Law....we have also been visiting a lot of family and friends to share the news...so its been a busy time! I have lots of pictures of the proposal, what he did and also a video because being the wonderful guy that he is....it could not just be a plain old proposal :P....We have been dating for 7 years now..highschool sweethearts, both graduate this year and will be planning a long engagement! We dont plan on having a wedding ceremony until we both have a little more saved up and finish all our schooling (and hopefully have a home to move into first...haha...which will probably be a few years).

Back to the outfit and makeup....it is 29 degrees C here in Toronto today, beautiful weather! I decided to wear my thrifted bohemian inspired top with my fave JC gladiators and slouchy leather bag from Winners...I was a little hot in the top :s....later on I am getting together with the girls for ice cream...Im debating whether I should change into a loong maxi dress...the one I wanted was sold out at American Eagle....it was plain white....cute braided straps....no logos and was such a soft material....should have got it when it was on sale :s...oh well....

The makeup in this post was picked up at CCO in Buffalo....so much cheaper than buying at the actual MAC store! I got a mineralize skinfinish for $19 in the color Petticoat which I do not recommend to those who have trouble with using a light hand....If you do have this, I highly recommend using the 188 brush because if you put too much you could end up looking like you have a skin disease....trust me, my first try wasnt the most pleasant...I also got the fluidline eyeliner in Blacktrack for $10....I am in lovewith it...so much better than using pencils...The concealer is NYX which we do not have in Canada..its good for undereye circle...

Hope you all have a great Thurs!

Besties

I am still getting my stuff together from the weekend....I promised to show a better picture of the belt....If you look at the second picture its leather and the red part is all small beads...I love it so much! best part is that it only cost me $3. And the shoes are my "going out shoes when I cant make up my mind about which to wear" shoes. They are really comfy and are by Nine West... I thought the first picture was cute because it was such an "in the moment" shot that J took =) those are out best friends, Anne Marie and Frank, her fiance. Last shot was taken by me...I am trying to brush up on my photography skills :P...hehe, we might take some classes together just for fun! Well today is going to be a lot of running around as I have to buy a gift for my friends baby shower, a gift for my friends wedding shower and also a gift for one of my girls for her birthday! so lots of money to be spent to day :s...

Sorry for the lack of posts after the weekend and the lack of new outfit shots.....Its been a big weekend...I also have news which im debating whether I will post to the blog :P ....I know, now that I wrote it, im just teasing you ..

Im off! Back Sunday ....

....I just came back from grabbing some thai food with the mama and then snack shopping because le Bf (whom I will refer to as J from now on....I think he likes that :P) and I leave tomorrow for Niagara/Buffalo ... I got all my marks back and could not be happier....A while back I posted that I didnt think my Physio exam went well at all.....well the point is....I maintained an "A" and basically came out with the same mark I went in with so its a good start to the long weekend =).....

Well, i'll have plenty new pics for you guys when I get back...hopefully taken with J's new camera (I freaked when I found out how much he spent on it....then again half of my money is invested in my closet so who am I to judge....its his money...I too reap the benefits so I will keep my mouth shut :P)
P.s. I passed by Value Village and have some cute new finds to show you guys....a vintage Armani crop top and a leather beaded belt that is gorgeous.....
Have a HAPPY MAY 24

Thursday Off

Today was my day off so I finally got my hair and eyebrows done....(these pics however are from yesterday so the roots are still peeking through :P)....actually it came out a really dark blonde/light brown....I will probably add some more blonde soon though because its very hard for me to get used to brown tones.... I have been thinking about adding some brown for a while...I will post pictures tomorrow so you guys can let me know what you think :P ....
I also went to the gym today for the first time in about 4 months ....sad...paying for a membership that is not even being used....and le bf and I worked on legs and a little bit of cardio...now its bubble bath time....and maybe some chamomile tea...tomorrow will be a long day and I need to get prepped up for the weekend...its our little niagara/buffalo get-away!

On to the outfit......everything im wearing was either thrifted or vintage (minus the shoes which were marked down from $130 to $25 and are by my fave brand Jeffrey Campbell). The purse and belt are two of my best thrift finds ;)

Chips, Dip and Perrier

After work snack shopping .... Le bf and I ransacked the isles for the "perfect chip"... we went with 2 flavours in one bag(hot wings and blue cheese)...mmmm....needless to say, we got some odd looks while taking pictures in the grocery store....and we rented the movie Taken because chips and dip just arent the same without a good flick....plus, we both had a long day at work....well I had a long day...and he has been working on two essays totalling 50 pages together. Now its just sit back and relax time which is why I chose comfy shorts and my loose vintage sweater! Tomorrow I have the day off so im going to be going to the hairdresser finally....im famous for sporting serious rootage ...haha... well at least the hair IS growing, and quickly at that....and hopefully going to the eyedoc because I am in serious need of a stronger prescription...that way I can avoid looking like I am constantly giving people the stink eye...I swear, im just trying to SEE properly....:P

Happy Hump Day girlies!

Shorts: Zara
Sweater: Vintage
Bag: B Makowsky
Boots: JC from Solestruck

I will probably do another makeup post soon.....let me know if you have any suggestions guys!

Hanging out in my Closet

So last night I found my grad dress! and guess where it was.....well...hanging out in my closet...I had actually picked it up at a thrift store about a year ago, stashed it in my closet and totally forgot about it until now! It is honestly perfect and I cant wait to show you guys....as for this little outfit....I got inspired to wear my Tiger print (thanks anon) shirt. I love animal prints in general (leopard being my fave)...and something bright on the bottom...I chose this green skirt (green happens to be one of my fave colors..) ...oh and the shoes im wearing....yep, I ruined them on the tracks thinking I was a brave star and balancing on the tracks rocking my heels back and forth just grinding away at the enamel of my heels :s....oh well.....they now have a story to tell....Just like the collection of bruises I have on my legs....haha

well...Off to watch 90210...im an addict...yes, its the only show I watch religiously...actually its pretty much the only show I watch period!

UB had 30% off everything on the weekend and I picked up this navy dress/shirt for $20 taxes in....I thought I deserved a little post exam treat...I also thought I would let you guys know about my two fave products of the moment...the first being Iced Lotus blush by Clinique...it is honestly the PERFECT pink...it is sheer with a hint of shimmer and comes out a soft pink on my cheecks....and also Dove tinted moisturizer so that I can start prepping my legs for the summer :P....as you can tell, I think im in desperate need of some colour but I refuse to bake myself in a tanning bed....
I cant wait for the long weekend...we are going away on a little trip and then across the border for a few hours to Buffalo, NY. Le bf also bought tickets to see a show, we will be off to the casino and drinks later on at night =)

All Finished ...

I am officially done undergrad and can now be considered a University of Toronto alumni! I got two of my marks back already...the highlight though was the 93% on my Cell Adhesion and Migration exam that I was constantly studying and referring to on this blog....so im pretty happy about that! Just not too happy about my last physio exam which was last night and lasted until 10pm....dont have a wonderful feeling about it but we will wait and see :s....anyways enough about school and marks....im DONE! So excited that last night I went out to celebrate with the girls for drinks at Molly Blooms....and wings were 39 cents which just totally made my night ;) ....Today basically consisted of sleeping in, breakfast with le Bf, pad thai for lunch, mothers day shopping, and picking up some packages at the post office... and I have massive amounts of cleaning up to do...there are multiple piles in different corners of my room that have been accumulating as exams progressed...
This shirt im wearing was one of my thrift store finds...its from Ports International and I LOVE the spring colors and nautical gold buttons! The best part is...it was $5...got to love thrift store deals ...actually come to think of it....Value Village is having 50% in a couple weeks (at least here in Canada) so dont forget!

Jeans: Marciano
