Loving the Rain

12 11 IMG_2215

I really love the rain, especially when I get to be all warm and cozy indoors …however, today I got caught in the rain while going to my doctors appointment downtown which was not too fun considering I use public transit…but, I was able to appreciate it the minute I got home after a nice bubble bath (I love listening to the sound of the rain falling against the window)….I picked up a few things with some birthday money (treated myself :P) while I was downtown after my visit at Aritzia since they are having a sale….I got a cool tie dye high waist skirt by my fave brand Wilfred, a crop top by Talulah, cheap monday jeans and a lace bra which I love (going to wear this a lot under loose tanks and tees)….well, im off to continue my reading and spend some time with the little bro…he is leaving soon….

Hey dudes! so today is party day....well my belated birthday party.....I got my nails all prepped up as you can see ( actually..its hard to see in the pic ..haha) with a bright neon pink colour and did the designs on my nails myself (the white, black and silver bottles which have a very fine tip brush for precision)...no need to go to a nail salon :P....plus its fun to sit outside and do them yourself of with your girlfriends! They were having a sale at Shoppers Drug Mart on a lot of the Quo nail products so I got a few things....J and I passed by the humber river...might go on a little pic-nic tomorrow....we love passing by parks...so beautiful....we really are lucky to live in such a beautiful city ;)

Dont want to be any body else but me...

It was crazy hot today thus making this outfit im wearing was totally inapproriate for the massive heat wave we faced here in Toronto ....I love these shorts though because they are pretty much the only shorts I can get away with wearing to work while maintaining a business casual look....obviously not with the top im wearing but I like to pair it with a white button down ...I passed by Value Village again because of course, its wednesday so 20% off for students...I picked up a hot black vintage velvet bandage dress ...I LOVE it...just have to wait for the heat to die down to wear it ....
This weekend I need to go through my closet...I will probably be selling many items so I can clear out the old and make room for the new ..and by new, I mean the many new thrifted peices....:P
Wishing you all an awesome mid-week....

In the Twilight Zone

So im not going to lie....I have hopped onto the bandwagon and read Twilight and I must say....I am SO glad that I did because I am addicted....it is sad how furiously I am going through these books...I literally walked downtown on bloor with a book in my face occasionally looking up to make sure I did not walk into a random pole...or endanger the life of another being for that matter....I only worked a half day so I did get to enjoy the weather a little bit,...soaked up the sun, painted my nails, ran some errands and then J and a couple of my friends came over for some BBQ... a great day overall =)
Also, I will be the first to admit that when I love something...I love it to death....when it comes to songs..I will have it on repeat until I get sick of it...when it comes to clothes, I will wear the same thing with different shoes/top/etc for a week straight....well this week, and possibly this month,....its these Zara shorts that I picked up on sale a while ago for $12....they are not short so I can avoid the trampy look by pairing it with tops that are a little more risque or daring....i.e. low cut loose tops a la mr. Wang....

Now I just need a tan....but im afraid of the sun....and I tend to get streaky with too muchself tanner....hmmmm...I think I need a better exfoliator :P....

Happy Papa's Day

Today is such a beautiful day! The weather is gorgeous, I woke up with the sun streaming in and to the smell of a fresh pot of Irish coffee (mama got up a lot earlier than me today :P).....it was just a perfect start to a happy Fathers day....we gave papa his gift which he loved and will be going out for dinner later...It is really the perfect finish to a hectic week (Yesterday was my big ol' birthday). Then J and I went for a drive to get some MORE coffee and breakfast (he rode in on his new dirt bike...he just got his license which means he now has pretty much every license you could possibly have including a trucking license.,..haha)...
Now on to the outfit and the BAG! This bag that I am wearing is by Nicole Miller..beautiful leather and was found at ...you guessed it...my fave place...Value Village for $7....it is so PERFECT and could not find something better than this even if I were given $500 to pick out any bag I wanted in a mall...I love it that much,...beautiful braided straps and slouches so perfectly when hung off my shoulder....The beaded belt was also found at Value village for $2 and the shoes I got there last year for $5 I think?
The necklace I am wearing is from Tiffany's and I got it for my graduation from mama (it came with a shorter chain...the long chain J got me from Tiffany's as well for my birthday along with a new bikini, tank and cute sweater from H&M).....I have actually never received any gifts from Tiffany's before and for this grad and bday I got three gifts! wow all in one shot and I really love them all....especially this key necklace that I am wearing...so you will be seeing a lot of it....
well I am off to go out with my Papa....

p.s. the glasses are my new Ray Ban prescription sunnies that I was talking about previously....perfect..I can SEE!

University of Toronto Alumni ...its Official!

Today was a tiring, hectic but memorable day......all those long nights of studying, staying up late, cramming, trying to finish off labs....paid off and as proof...the culmination of my works....on this little peice of paper so beautifully inscribed with my name ....needless to say, I feel proud and this is yet another stepping stone in the right direction...my school days are not over...but my undergrad degree is and finally I get my HBSc =)....
As you can see, I had a blow out done on my hair because I cannot do it myself if my life depended on it :s....so I had to fork out ...and pay to get it done
..As promised, here is the dress I wore by J Crew that I found at my fave store Value Village for a whole $10! and just perfect in my size....I also wore a pair of shoes that I had bought about a year ago on sale at Winners and my moms Betsey Johnson Jeweled purse (It has jewel encrusted leopards on it...the most beautiful bag I have seen in a while!)....
....We went to dinner after the ceremony at one of my favorite restaurants called Grappa...I LOVE that place...its small, cozy, and the food is great (a tad on the pricey side though)!
....well just thought I would share this special day and special news with you guys because I really do love you all!
....well im off to get some rest, maybe watch a movie and get ready for another hectic day...almost my birthday...two more days!!

p.s. I still cant wait to show you guys my latest thrift finds....some really great stuff!

p.s. J knew I wanted some things from the forever21 site and was going to get them for my birthday ...BUT of course, all sold out by the time we got to it... the good stuff is always gone within minutes! errrgggghhh ....ahh well....we all know the best gifts in life are not material anyways ;) ....

The wayfarers im wearing in these shots were found at Value Village for $5 and are vintage Bausch and Lomb... I was super happy when I found them ...had some sticker residue on it but nothing a bit of hot water and soap couldnt fix ;)

The Sun is Bright

Today is pretty much the day that it is guaranteed we will all be together as a family....Sundays are definitely the most important day of the week....the others are all just rush rush and out the door....Today was super hot so we were out on the patio having BBQ with la familia....my godfather was over as well with my little cousins....I have a LOT of cousins...I come from a big family...Hope those of you in Toronto enjoyed the wonderful weather!
On to the outfit...as I mentioned before, UB was having 50% off sale over the weekend so I picked up this dress for about $15 and I love it....you can dress it up or down which I like.. The shoes are from H&M and cost a whole $20.....they were on a serious discount sale ;)...they still have some at Yorkdale for those of you in Toronto ;) ....Like I said....lots of whites this summer....and colour blocking....which simply consists of wearing "blocks" of solid colours....this can be with one, two or three colours (or more...but thats tough to pull off!)....
The purse is none other than my little vintage Chanel...Love this little thing...perfect size for a small bag....

Dress: UB
Shoes: H&M

Love Betsey ...

Today after work I stopped by Value Village and picked up this little vintage Betsey Johnson number. It is silk with a corset upper body and fits perfectly...its very short which I like and has a 90s grunge vibe to it ...I have been searching for about a year, no joke, for something like this! It cost me a whole $7 with tax... every wednesday is 20% off for students so I got an extra discount off the already low price =)....take advantage guys (I dont know if that is valid in the US as well?)...the stockings are my pink la perla fishnets that I got at winners on sale for dirt cheap..probably the cost of a Starbucks latte which to be honest I have pretty much cut out of my life....Im trying to spend less on coffee and brew it at home

Dress: Vintage Betsey Johnson
Sweater: Wilfred (you guys know this is my fave sweater ever!)
Necklaces: Vintage
Purse: Vintage Chanel

Dress= Found!!

Its about time that I found this dress at American Eagle....it went on sale a while ago and I had regret not getting it as it pretty much was everything I was looking for in a maxi dress....this is my first and I wanted it to be simple, plain, cotton and white for summer...I like the back because you can still wear a bra with it and the straps are adjustable....

Next up is the Urban Decay palette in Half Baked....I love everything about this little palette

Maybe for my Birthday :P.....its all sold out at Yorkdale...I know that much!

According to Sephora:

Get Baked Eye Kit ($53 Value)
What it is:A limited-edition set that creates universally flattering effects.
What it does:Urban Decay Get Baked Eye Kit gets you on your way to a blazing-hot, bronzy look. A shimmery primer, a trio of neutral shadow shades, a burst of teal shadow, and a travel-sized eye pencil roll up into a super-slim palette that's perfect for on-the-go glam. Try "Sin", the champagne-colored version of the classic Primer Potion alone or under a shadow.
