Hey guys! So I didn't get a chance to go to The Clothing Show that happened here in Toronto this weekend (if you went, I would love to hear about your findings)…which is probably a good thing considering I should not be buying any more clothes or shoes until my closet is fully cleaned out! I always get tempted amidst the sea of perfectly worn leather booties, waist cinching belts and supple leather bags … This weekend involved going to the theatre with some friends to watch The Town (which was a great movie), running a lot of errands with J, just tidying up in general and perusing through my Greek and Irish cookbooks with a mug of coffee on hand.. for some new recipes that look simple but delicious!
I have been wearing a lot of loose clothes in dark colours lately … I was going to wear black pants as well but then decided against it – I needed a teeny bit of colour to add to my outfit so went with comfortable blue jeans instead … I also forgot, we passed by a garage sale this weekend and I found two pair of cute boots for $3 (I don't count this as shopping .… because its less than a Starbucks latte..haha) – the ones I am wearing in this post are one of them and they are SO comfortable because of the chunky heel (not too high but not too low..it is honestly the perfect wearable heel size in my opinion).. the brand is Franco Sarto. Also wearing my Coach bag that I got off eBay a little while ago which I have been sporting to work as well as on the weekends!
I was also going to take a picture of my new drugstore foundation to compare it to Estee Lauder Double wear but it broke (I dropped it on the floor)… anyways, I will just let you know (without the picture :P)… I found a foundation which I think is comparable to Estee Lauder Double Wear and about 1/4 of the price – its Maybelline Super stay 24 hour foundation! It’s application is very smooth, its pretty transfer resistant and looked good most of the day … not as long wearing as my Estee Lauder, but honestly, the closest I have found so far in a foundation (I like it better than Revlon Color stay – and it doesn't have that hard paint smelling scent like Revlon’s). I will continue to repurchase it as an affordable drugstore foundation during the week and save my expensive Estee Lauder for Saturday nights! For reference, I am the colour Tawny in Estee Lauder DW and Classic Beige in Maybelline (in MAC foundation I am usually NC30)
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
Outfit: Shirt: F21, Hat: Vintage from last year’s Clothing Show, Jeans: Earnest Sewn (thrifted), Bag: Vintage Coach via eBay, Shoes: Franco Sarto (garage sale for $1.50)

Isn't it true that you find amazing items when you're not looking for them? ie. boots for $1.50 ... that fit! I was looking for replacement open toe high heels for the summer (I wore my previous pair out) and could not find a decent pair so I stopped looking - just this past week, I found the most comfy heels at aldo ON SALE. They will just sit pretty in my closet until next summer.
love the outfit, your hat is so cute!
$3 shoes is unbelievable! (but I do believe you :) - it's probably the best deal I've ever heard of, especially since the shoes are so in style!
Rachel - thats so exciting! hmmm for shopping I would say to def check out the Eaton Centre mall, Kensington Market and Queen street for some cute vintage shops, 69 Vintage and 69 Vintage collective if you are looking for higher quality hand picked (also comes with the higher price tag) items ... and Bloor and Avenue rd for some "high end" shops - think Gucci, Chanel ... that area (Yorkville .. you will find me there often :p) also has a lot of nice restaurants - you can check out Panorama if you want a cool roof top patio to relax at night - you get an amazing view of the whole city - its on the top floor of the manulife centre on Bloor street - I honestly hope you have a great time - let me know what you think of Toronto :)
Sparkle-me designs- I do that often :) buy out of season on sale .. I have a hard time paying full price inless I absolutely LOVE and cannot part without taking the item home ..haha
Shop T.O - I know! and the seller seemed so aprehensive about giving me that price too.. like it was too much! I almost felt bad and wanted to offer more ....
Love the boots!!!
And the price you paid them... simply unbelievable!!!
That's sheer luck girl!

I went through several pages of your blog in one sitting, and I just wanted to say that I think you are a lovely girl, you have great taste, and, most of all, you possess a very effortless, chic, down-to-earth, and likable "air".
Wish you all the best!
You are absolutely stunning. Love the casual outfit!

That hat is perfection - love it!
you have a really good sense of style :)
i love the super stay foundation! i discovered it about a month ago and its definitely comparable to a lot of department store brands! i love when you blog about makeup =)
I agree that $1.50 shoe purchase does not count as shopping! Think about the people that spend $4 on a starbucks every day! (I admit I am one of those people that does enjoy a good starbucks latte, but definitely not EVERY day!)
I went to the clothing show last weekend and it was really great. The "new" section was terrible but the vintage was amazing. Ended up picking up an Aquascutum navy trench for $10, and a huge long Missoni sweater coat for $60 (haggled her down from $85) The one thing I was looking for was a hat like the one you are wearing but I couldnt find a good one (although there were a lot there... just stopped looking after i dropped $70 in a span of ten minutes... lol)
