Like a falling star who has found her Place

At winners today I found the perfect top on sale for $15. Just what I had been looking for since I had seen it on a friend… Its so loose and flowing and I just pictured myself wearing it in colder weather with blazers..and in warmer weather on its own with cute jeans, skirts etc… also bought the Gwen Stefani perfume for $25 (dirt cheap)…BUT ended up hating it so I will be taking that back… its just way too strong for me … organized my room after breakfast/lunch with mama…got a bunch of storage containers/drawers for my makeup…might show you guys that soon… Its just so much more organized and I can actually SEE everything that I have… J and I then passed by Shoppers Drug Mart where I found an issue of Nylon for Guys…never even knew this existed!! So picked up a copy for him and I and now….I am at his aunts 40th bday….hence the dressier top I am wearing :p…off to eat some natas … Hope you are all having an awesome weekend! XOX

Remember when I told you guys I had downloaded this awesome video converter in my last video? Well it gave me a wonderful virus so … I had to delete that program and find another. However, it seems I am having that problem again with the lag time between the screen and my actual voice ….so I am apologizing in advance…I will be trying to fix this I just don't have the time right now because its super late and I’m dead tired

Across the Border

Just to let you all know where I have been this weekend :p… Niagara Falls! First few pics show the awesome view we had from our hotel room- we were at the highest level (22nd floor)...J (fourth picture…that's him!) and I had this hotel booked from a while ago (we like to come up here every now and then)… last night consisted of a burger lunch, wings for dinner (fave food in the world! other than Susi :P)…we stopped by a Value Village in Niagara that had ridiculous prices (I picked up flats and a belt for $15)! they marked a pair of boots at $60?! what?!…Starbucks and Tim Horton's…. passing by the fudge factory to pick up some chocolate snacks…. skating by the falls… relaxing on the balcony which was surprisingly warm….a Lush bubble bath in the Jacuzzi (turned on the jets and the amount of bubbles was crazy! haha….overflowed the tub, it was awesome)…white wine…and now we will be going across the border to do some shopping in New York (Buffalo) =) ….ill let you guys know if I pick anything up! XOX

Its about time! so after attempting to upload yet another video and failing- I decided I really needed to do a little more research…I finally downloaded a program that can convert and compress video files (This took me ten minutes to upload as opposed to 8 hours! haha)

Addicted

Yesterday J and I made a stop in Yorkville for some late night sushi after paying a hospital visit to one of our loved ones… it was pretty random…I wasn't really dressed for going out either (clearly...) but oh well (yes, still wearing that sweater from Aritzia that I have practically been living in lately) … Just thought I would share a picture with you guys (sushi is one of my favourite foods!!…mmm…I'm getting cravings now and its 7 in the morning :s)…

I will hopefully be working on a YouTube video tonight for you guys! and … getting all prepped up for the weekend =) …J and I have a little “date” to go into the United States that weekend … it is the 23rd which is our anniversary day and YES we kind of still count up the months….even after 7 years of dating (and almost one year of being engaged!)…we always have.. The exchange rate is awesome so we might be doing a little shopping …

Sunshine to Chase the Clouds Away

Hey guys… so I finally get to share pics of this jacket that I picked up at Value Village recently by Ralph Lauren ..I am in LOVE… it was a little pricey for second-hand at $15 but I loved it a lot and didn't even bother to question their pricing (yes I have no shame…if I think pricing is ridiculous…I will say something :p)… I also picked up one of their calendars for $3 just for the coupons (which is already worth it for me…some great discounts for someone that shops there often)…also wearing the bracelet again as you can see… really versatile and spices up any look…even jeans and a tee in my opinion…

Just got home from a long day (between work and hospital visits) …..and to clarify….no, I'm not married yet! J and I are still engaged and will be for some time … I will call him my hubby or hubs every now and then :P … trust me…when I do tie the knot you guys will know (hopefully this blog will still be in existence :p) …

I will also be working on another YouTube video (thanks to all your suggestions and comments) … hopefully get that up this week! I think I will be doing a makeup/hair video since those are pretty much the only requests that I had (and I am a product junkie :p…. so I think I have quite a bit to share in that regard)

oh and last pic…that was me playing with this Irish dude’s Victorian bulldog…. most beautiful coat ever! He looked like a little tiger (you cant even really tell from the pictures) … I LOVE dogs….I am definitely a dog person (hence, my little maxi…aka…Mack)

well I am off to do some more online shopping for J’s Valentines Day gift… and drink a hot tea… I think I need it … maybe a lush bubble bath too …

Yesterday night was a crazy night. It was Anne’s friends birthday and I accompanied her as her “date” :p… we met up with about 20 people and took a limo bus up to Niagara Falls to go to Dragonfly nightclub… bar on the bus…we stuck with rum and vodka… and “Jewish wine” as our friend kept referring to….good stuff. Lots of food (which thankfully stayed in my tummy…eww) ….dancing… random pictures of body parts and bottles…our driver Carlos who had to put up with our antics….haha…struggles in the washroom (jerky bus you know?!)… getting back to Toronto at 5am and crashing at 5:30 am … Anne and I left early…made a starbucks run for our lattes, ran into Tim Horton's for sesame bagels with Garlic cream cheese … came home and that was that.Oh and that bracelet I am wearing…LOVE it…got it at Sears on sale marked down from $40 to $15.

I should have some outfit shots for you guys once my hubby wakes his butt up… he had a long night too….we both did our own things which was nice… I think I miss him more now :p

Also, I might do a video tutorial of the makeup I wore last night today….I really loved it…gunmetal and navy blue smoky eye =)…perfect for a night out…dramatic and bold which is what I was going for. Debating between starting with that or just an everyday look. Let me know what you guys think… I know I had some requests to do a hair tutorial but I am not going to lie….I actually don't put a lot of effort into my hair when I style it because it is already naturally straight (thanks to my grandma) … I just have particular products that I always use which I can talk about if it interests you :)

Ok this is a second test video (excuse my awkwardness!! :p….camera shy…) .. I'm not going to lie… this 2 minute video took 5 hours to upload on YouTube…something’s not right….haha…I guess I AM making progress though…at least its not on a crazy fast-forward motion like the last time  tried uploading (but some of it still got cut off…my goodbye to you guys wasn't there….boo =( ..so it ends someone abruptly/rudely….sorry about that!)

I was thinking of doing a makeup video…as in, my daily sort of routine…or do you guys prefer a question/answer…? any video suggestions…? This one was just a “test vlog”

Pumpernickel bagel with light cream cheese/coffee/subway/9-5/rush hour/stop for beef patties/surprise/J/Independent theatre/Buttered Popcorn and chocolate/Coco avant Chanel/ Searching for Starbucks/drinking pineapple juice from a glass bottle/ $5 figs/pit stop for SD card at Loblaws/honey crueller Tim bits/holding hands/Kiss Goodnight

J and I went to a small independent theatre on Mount Pleasant road and watched Coco avant Chanel (pure coincidence that I wore my Chanel!)… thanks to his little surprise….he wouldn't tell me where we were going either… it really could not have been a better atmosphere to watch the movie. The experience came complete with the old school drawn curtains and all! We sat near the front which was fun because it honestly felt like we were the only ones there! After that I had this weird fig craving…stopped at Loblaw's and bought three figs which were the most expensive freaking figs… $5 (I didn't even realize until AFTER I had paid)!

I picked up this grey sweater at Aritzia (Made by Talulah) on sale for $38…I usually don't spend that much on hooded sweaters BUT this one was SO soft, slightly oversized, white zipper and drawstrings, and the perfect shade of grey. Nothing overly spectacular….I just really like the quality. Lately I have been pairing a lot of sweaters/lounge wear with heels… I kind of like the contrast … Well I am off to bed..I have to be up bright and early…

Live, Laugh, Love

It has been FREEZING lately! wow… as you can tell from the pictures we got some snow in Toronto this weekend …I was lucky enough to be on a beach the first snowfall but had to stick it out this time :p

The circle necklace I am wearing in the second picture was a Christmas gift from J that he picked out for me from Birks. It has a little diamond in the center and says Live, Laugh, Love which I think are wonderful words to live by and just a perfect gift to start the new year with. I have been wearing it almost every day…I'm just scared of breaking it because the chain is so thin (knock on wood…the semi-superstitious side of me comes out :p) !

I also REALLY appreciate the BCBG jacket I got for Christmas from mama… when I first opened the box I thought to myself…very pretty, casual chic but honestly, this thing can’t be that warm! Let me tell you…. it is actually one of the warmest jackets I have believe it or not (next to my white North Face parka I got from J a couple years ago). My loved ones seem to be pretty good at keeping me snugly warm during the winter months!

Well I am off to eat some dinner and read my new issue of Fashion that just came in the mail (Tavi, a young blogger is actually in this months mag..its cool to see a familiar face on paper/media).

The fight is over

Guess what I found with the mama today at Winners??!! This awesome Audrey Hepburn wall hanging on sale for $28!! I was super excited…especially because James Dean (my wall hanging from Value Village) was feeling a tad lonely :p… I will be re-vamping my room a little in the next few weeks…trying to get rid of a lot of the “old” that I don't need/use anymore (part of my new years resolution). I will be selling part of it, giving away stuff and throwing whatever is left over into this summers garage sale.

I included a few other things from my holy grail store…aka Winners… that is where I picked up my Lolita Lempicka perfume (which I have been ADDICTED to) as well as my Clinique three step skin care system …LOVING it… especially the cream…I think my search for the perfect moisturizer that I can wear under makeup, in the morning and before bed is OVER! I LOVE this stuff…also picked up a ROC toner for $5 to try out (it was cheap so why not) …

Lastly, to add to my sock collection….because you can never have enough socks or underwear …especially during the winter months….these are from Ardene and I picked up 10 pairs for $10. I have never really bought anything from that store but the socks lured me in :p

oh and in case you were wondering what the name was about…I just came back from watching the UFC fight with Annemarie and the boys…good stuff ;)

I will be back with some outfit posts tomorrow =) J and I will be meeting and hopefully relaxing from the craziness of this weekend with some downtime…

2010 … Bring It

2010 .. a new decade… crazy how time flies! 10 years ago I was JUST starting my first year in high school (its no joke when they say.. wow…time flies). Many great things to look forward to …a LOT of weddings to attend … new opportunities/ many things to look forward to ….its going to be a great year ..I can feel it in my bones…

I wore a very simple but sparkly (and comfortable) outfit…loose fit studded tee from UO (sale for $10) and my sequin H&M leggings. Sorry if this isn't a crazy groundbreaking look but honestly, this year was about having fun, being comfortable and keeping it semi-low key ;) .. i also added a lot more sparkle to my makeup than usual (using my wonderful Urban Decay palette)… I went with black, silver and a mossy green.

P.s. I only posted a few pictures (of my beautiful peeps who consented to being included in the blog. ..I love them to pieces)…plus half of the pictures are so random… no idea where they came from! lol…

Last night was … crazy…awesome… and didn't break the bank ;) … a few friends (about 12 of us) decided to have a little house party… LOTS of drinks…Portuguese food, wine, cheese, dips… everything! It was awesome…my tums was definitely satisfied. My drink of choice was Malibu with peach and Mango juice …and wine: Sauvignon blanc (least amount of calories…at least thats what my friend told me..bonus I guess..not that I'm counting :p)

Everything from Grease re-enactments (background music and all) to Dirty Dancing….to Sean Paul, La Roux, old school tracks and TONS of hip hop… and a disco ball to top it off (the dog kept chasing the lights…funniest thing EVER) …. Jamaican beer ..drinking games… and finishing off with one big slumber party…ok not really because we each had our own rooms/floor to sleep on …but we stayed up most of the night….so…

Ps. Thanks to my anon reader who advised me about the UO sale downtown (50% off all sale prices) I picked up these “Where the Wild Things are” slippers for $5 marked down from $32 which really came in handy… I was petting them by the end of the night (due to a wee little bit too much of alcohol consumption) ….so awesome

The morning after…. last picture…sums it up…TIRED! haha…. we had a big breakfast which included Starbucks coffee…hash browns…eggs…toast with whipped cream cheese…and bacon…we lounged around until almost 3pm … grabbed lunch … and finished off the night going to a skating arena (the boys played hockey) and grabbing fries and lattes… off to catch up on some Zzzz’s now …

And to J (aka my photographer …most of the time :p.. and hubby to be) … this is the decade that marks the rest of our lives! Cheers to that!
