Rachel- I like to use it most of the time just because I have reddish skin...I switch between mineralize skinfinish and liquid foundation (I never pack it on heavy)

anonymous- Kabuki brushes are generally denser so you use them when you want heavier coverage or a more intense glow if you use it for bronzer ...just be careful because you dont want to look orange..you can use them for both ...but like I said, thats if you want heavier coverage..I like using a brush similar to the MAC 187 for bronzer ..it looks more natural ....and the brush that I have by MAC is the 188 which is the mini version of the 187 =)

Thanks so much. That really helped. Anyways, so are kabuki brushes for loose powders or bronzers? So many brushes I can't seem fathom which is appropriate for which texture of blush/brozer. Also the brush you have is 187 or 188?

I use this brush for all blushers...if it is not very pigmented it does take more work to put on though...I use it mostly for the highly pigmented mineral blushes...so YES you can build up color and NO I would not use it for bronzer....I find that its just too small for that....I like the brush to the far left (quo and similar to 188 but a lot larger) or get the 187 which is the larger version for bronzer...unless you have loads of time to spare...def not good for bronzer...any other questions ..let me know!

You look so pretty:) I wanted to invest in the MAC 187 brush and wanted your advice on how well it works. I have a shimmery type blush with sheer pigment and lady @ la MAC counter said that the brush is perfect for it but all the reviews I am hearing are suggesting to use this brush mainly for highly pigmented blushers. So long story short, can I build up the color with this brush and also can I use this for a bronzer as well as a blusher? Thanks for you review;-)

Glamoricious- I find if you just put a little and blend it out it looks really great...and def not pore clogging for me...its for oily/comb skin so the ingredients are pretty mild

anon 2:25- I wash them every few days with the MAC brush cleaner...you have to be careful not to soak your brushes too much because it can loosen the glue up that hold the brushes and also rot the wood handle...so make sure after you wash them that you lie them flat....also, I usually store them in a container with beads to keep them upright or in that new brushroll I pictured a couple days ago when im traveling to keep them all safe ;) Hope that helped

Great post! I LOVE how you give alot of details- pro's and cons.

I have the Revlon Colorstay foundation and like you said, it's not very buildable and is very full coverage.. which means thick. I find it great for covering dark scars and it does stay put. However I find it a bit TOO thick and it can make me break out and you HAVE to make sure you get the right shade.

I found another great foundation by accident: Neutrogena healthy skin. It's very light and you can't make any mistakes such as putting on too much. Plus since it's light I don't break out from it.
